I noticed the £2 had been taken from my account and put back, so I got on the live chat and asked them and they confirmed if my order had changed from 'new' to 'pending stock' the credit check had been successful:)

does MPD got live chat service? or it was nokia.co.uk?

There was an email sent out by MPD last week apologising for the delay, saying that 3rd Dec will be a despatch date and that if your order says pending stock it means that it has passed the credit check.

Just spoke to Nokia UK (0800 331 6021) and the depressed-sounding man said that they will be shipped tomorrow now. A very few have apparently gone out today, but the vast majority will be tomorrow. I have no idea if it's true or not, but if it's not, at least it's a different and pleasantly detailed inaccuracy.

Lie, once the N900 starts shipping it will change to 'in stock' on the website...
