I had the whole forum refering to him as Biscuit. The n95 got named, (Godot because of the nokia delays..) but never really had the personality of Biscuit. My current device is 'That damned phone'.

I suspect n900 will be named Mo (as in My Mo) but I'll have to wait till I meet him. I'm still worried he might be travel sick after all that journey.

Thing is some people actually appreciate information, whether the informer is permitted to disclose it or not. Just because you get the random tosser quoting names off forums to the company doesn't mean that they shouldn't inform us. It just means that if people want information then be considerate to the people giving it to you rather than getting them in a heap of ****.

I guess the argument that 'if you don't want to loose your job then don't disclose information' still stands but if you don't get people who selfishly blab things out and ruin it for others then I really don't see the problem.

Yarr, that's very true. But then you get a barrage of posts questioning the validity of it all.

Planning to take the netbook to bed with me, so that if I wake up in the night, I can check tracking again, and see whether n900 has arrived at East Mids. I can't really sit up all night refreshing the page till they scan the barcode, can I!

Edit! One last refresh and yes! N900 is safe and well in the UK. I wonder how he feels to be on British soil. Do you think UPS will give him a cup of tea in the arrivals lounge?

(And more importantly, will they stick him on a truck heading southwest pronto?)

This is a forum it is not an official place where people puts some "officially copyrighted facts". We just sharing our, knowledge, thoughts, ideas etc... I wanted to clear question marks that have been appearing for last 20 days on peoples head. Sorry to help.

You can usually get some sort of validity without name dropping with good information. When it gets to name dropping stage then are the intentions to help or to bolster ego/presence.

virgin mobile are doing £5 /1gb monthly bundles on PAYG. sms "BUY DATA" to 789789. see?

My intention was to help, nothing else. You are all right, I should not of put my name down(which I didnt know posts would come this far). I could loose my job, I wasnt thinking about getting attention or calls to my workplace.

Good luck, you havent done them any disservice. (Except for call volume to your store) Some people are quite rabid for this handset though. Would be awful to lose a job though because of peoples anger at something above your head :(.

We have been asked if we "released" any information out. I was trying to remove question marks on peoples head. We have got yelled at because apparently one of us gave information under the name of "Nokia Retail" which was not true. In every single post I did not use Retail Stores name particularly as a reference. Now everything is ok. But please do not call in and ask for me or do not say Steve said this, Steve said that. Even a guy came to find me to thank ( I know because he was saying if he is real and telling the truth I want to thank him personally), but we had to say someone is lying under using our name.

Thank you guys for defending me.

For those who does not believe me, just wait and see. As I said I am not sure about T-Mobile Vodafone thing, we will see. But no one is getting their phone from Nokia Retail this week.

Steve, (Nearly the ex) G. Nokia Retail Store worker.

A few things to say about this

First of all - A big thank you for the help you have tried to give - it really is appreciated, Im apologising for the trouble it got you in and glad you are OK now

Secondly - in fairness to the muppet who rang and outed you, didn't you put your name and number in one of your posts? It doesn't excuse what happened, but it probably didn't help you...

Anyway, most people really are grateful for the assistance you have tried to give..

With regards to MPD, maybe you can feed back some of the comments from places like this to the management, because communications really haven't been that good, the delays might not be MPD's fault, but they could have communicated things better and reduced the endless queries the staff have no doubt had to deal with, which were caused by lack of information

Anyway thanks again

Thanks very much for the number, but I asked them if they could re-auth and they said no (unbelievable), and I would have to place another order.
I told them that I had to place an order manually with out using my account as the system crashed when I tried.
The only offer I got was to be put back to the people I tried yesterday, who really don't care one way or the other.

Thanks a lot. I didn't say anything about anyone in the first place anyway, Yes it was my fault to put my name down, but i hope people could be more cautious about giving my name, I didnt say "dont" so basically it is my fault. But I dont like to hear any dissing while I am only trying to help.

Although I can't figure why it's being trunked to Cologne, that's totally in the opposite direction! Can only hope that deliveries to Ireland are taking a different route and it hasn't been loaded onto the wrong container! Yikes!!
AA Route Planner tells me the trip from Rotterdam to Cologne should take 2.5 hours, so I'll check it again around midnight to see where it's ended up.

I think it's all down to your location in the country.. Perhaps different airports have different flights, or they want to bundle certain parcels to certain locations up in a bundle.. UPS from what I know are a more than decent delivery company, so I'm confident whatever route each of our N900's decides to take, it will arrive when it's supposed to.. Otherwise.. well.. i'm just going to be plain out angry in silence.

Anyway.. my bed time isn't till 5am and I can't be bothered going to the office tomorrow.. So I'll be tracking it throughout the night..
