(OFF TOPIC) i bought a broken second hand 8210 about 8 years ago for £20 of a friend (when the RRP was about £200). It had one day left on it's warranty so I sent it off to nokia to be fixed. The collected it, replaced pretty much every part on the phone (including the battery) and then returned it all for free and in the space of about two weeks.

I don't know how many of you have ordered it from Expansys but i've just got an e-mail saying that if the mobile is not available for them it's because the phone is only sold through Vodafone in the uk (and through nokia stores).

They also said that they're trying to get some in the next few weeks in some other way.

I live in Portugal and oredering it from UK was the best option so far. I am scared to order it trought nokia.pt because i am not sure if the keyboard will be the same as the uk one. With all the accents we have in Portugal we might get an italian style keyboard

As i phoned they told me that stock has just arrived, and i asked will they be dispatched today they said pre-order's only. it was the Wokingham store

I have a little something telling me there bu** sh**** me, but i don't know.

No, that's the Nokia Retail store (also run by MPD I believe). Go to this page and find the Wokingham MPD store a little way down the page.

So far they havent changed any pre-orders to say in stock, and when i called 2 stores - neither say in stock on the phone. also webchat says not in stock :) - really do want to beleive you, i dooooooooooooo!! :)

did they say when they would? The person I spoke to this morning said december the 4th, but yesterday I spoke to someone else and they said it will definitley be in today or tomorrow.

My guess is they're telling people the 4th now to stop the constant barrage of calls.

For those who have already preordered you are meant to get it tomorrow but all others will get 4th december which is the Official Launch Date.

Now the problem is they haven't received the 600-odd handsets today so I don't think tomorrow is going to happen now!

When I was in the Regent St. store I was told that when they arrive it takes them a day or two to sort them out and allocate them to all the alloted people. Working on a basis they arrived yesterday (with all the other pre orders) I'd say a Saturday pickup looks good.

yeah although i do wonder if he is actually based at the NFS i emailed them and he was the one who emailed me back but clearly it states he is from nokia retail unless there are a nokia retail team in the NFS

however i do have reason to believe he is from NFS as i was told about the bluetooth headphones which as far as i can see are for NFS only unless i am wrong about that

incidentally has anyone used vodafone before what are they like for customer service etc

I've been with Vodafone for a good few years, their customer service is fine, not a problem with it so far...

Nokia Online Store has a bad reputation for after sales service
That's the only thing I regret buying on NOS.

You'll be a very happy chap if everything goes right cos buying from NOS saves loads of £££££

With Nokia

1. They don't find a fault, return the phone back to you
2. They find a fault, fix it, return it back to you
3. They find a fault, can't fix it, replace it with refurbished

Vodafone are pretty good and I've had no problem with them. I would have signed to them again if it wasn't for their mobile internet fair policy. Apart from that I highly recommend them

anyone else frantically checking there email every 5 mins to see if they have any new info from NFS its driving me mad

on another note this will be the first time i used vodafone i have been with these other networks in the past

3 customer service is shocking not least because they are in mumbai and its so hard to understand them orange were very helpfull never had a problem with them

just hope vodafone are good it annoys me having to keep changing network each time i want a new phone (can never afford it sim free as would never have that sort of money in one hit) but i suppose that the price you pay for wanting the "latest" phone

anyway im off out for a bit hope i return to find they are posting my phone out today

For everyones info:

Jon Mears is the MPD/NokiaRetail representative to the Nokia Flagship Store on Regent Street... He's training other to process contract orders / processing the contract orders for the store & he's the one I dealt with when I pre-ordered on Vodafone.

He's just emailed me back and said there was no confirmed date and as soon as he had any more info he would call me.
