The store is grossly over staffed, but sorting out 600 phones and all the contracts/preorders/etc has got to keep 2 or 3 people busy for a few shifts. |

Re: Nokia N900 - UK Release Related Information
see what annoys me more is the fact i work in retail (flooring) and deal with cusomers who book carpet etc to be fitted on a certain date. we have to order the product from our supplier and then they have to deliver to us in time to send it out to be fitted.
occasionaly someone will be out of stock of something we need but they have on the system at least a week in advance a date that it will be with them and they can usually send it out to us the same day so we get it the following morning through the delay process we are kept up to date with latest infomation even if that means we chase our delivery daily if need be for latest infomation to pass onto our customers it makes me wonder how the company i work for which consists of one shop owned by my dad can mange to keep on top of stock issues and inform customers as soon as we have any infomation yet nokia a mulitnational and multi million pound company with stores call centres factorys and warehouses all around the world cant even manage to keep a hand full of customers updates on at least a daily basis i dont want miracles although one wouldnt go amiss right about now but what i do want is to be kept in the loop is that to muich to ask for i think not but nokia on the other hand clearly think it is |

Phones4u / CarphoneWarehouse = N900 January 2010. Phones4u / CarphoneWarehouse = NO RETURNS, Only like-for-like exchange in first 28 days. Phones4u / CarphoneWarehouse = Shoddy Shoddy (Worse than Nokia) Customer Services / Repairs Process I should know, I used to work for both. |

Re: Nokia N900 - UK Release Related Information
ShadowLFC thanks for writing all that lol
I spent so much f****in time in London I just got back! Right this is a loooong post but here goes. Firstly, apologies to all those who emailed me asking me to keep them in the loop - I've replied to some and not to others and I feel bad but within half an hour of that message I received 80 emails on my blackberry lol. Secondly, everything ShadowLFC had said is right to my knowledge however everyone you speak to gives you different information regarding when. Last night i spoke to the same woman three times (I used three different voices) and I was told - Monday, Early next week, Early to middle next week. Personally I'm expecting them in at the close of business today ready to be picked up over the weekend. However, that is just heresay and not confirmed. As for getting something out of them I don't think it'll be possible except for the BH504s! |

CarphoneWarehoue have not offered returns for quite some time & Phones4u in August stopped offering them (7th August to be precise). If the handset is fault they are willing to exchange in the first 28days. If it was a contravention of the SGA, then surely network stores would be offering a returns piece of mind period (note: they dont!) |

Distance selling act - Law.... Carphonewarehouse = Bending the law as much as possible :) (Not allowed to hide any of the below items in small print to force the customer to agree otherwise now :) ) Getting your money back Under the distance selling regulations, you are quite within your rights to change your mind at any time within the first seven days, return the goods and get a full refund. This means without financial penalty of any kind – such as a cancellation charge or a ‘restocking’ fee. The supplier must also refund any delivery charges paid by you, and any other costs related to the contract. Refunds must be made within 30 days from cancellation, whether or not the goods have been sent back. Any related credit agreements will also cease to exist. You may be required to pay to return the goods, but you must have been informed of this as part of the pre-contractual information. if the goods are faulty, then under Sale of Goods, the supplier will always bear the cost of returning them. Returning the goods Unless you are required to return the goods, and you were informed of this, your only obligations are to make the goods available for collection and to take reasonable care of them while they are in your possession. This is called a duty of care. Where the supplier has made provision to collect the goods, this duty of care expires after 21 days, but where you have agreed to return the goods, your duty of care continues until you do this and could be for as long as 6 months. Packaging Under a distance selling contract, a supplier cannot make refunds subject to the goods being returned unopened in their original packaging. One of the principles of the distance selling regulations is to give you a chance to examine the goods at home, not having had a chance to do so in the shop. It would be impossible for you to do this without opening the packaging and trying the product out. Having said this, you will still be under a duty to take reasonable care of the goods while in your possession, and may be subject to certain instructions such as not to wear shoes outdoors, or remove hygiene seals. But you can never be penalised simply because you did not return the goods in their original packaging. |

DSR applies when you take a contract out over the phone/internet. DSR does not apply if you buy in a store. Hence none of that post is applicable. |

Re: Nokia N900 - UK Release Related Information
Phones4u used to offer 14 days and have a retentions department... Off-the-record figures show retentions used to spend approximately £3 million a year retaining customers lol
every contract bought from August 7th 09 is no longer subject to 14days = no more retentions, no more different handset exchanges = more profit |
Re: Nokia N900 - UK Release Related Information
Guys Guys Guys, haven't you learn't yet?
DON'T listen to anyone who says they have a source or they know when it's coming or they spoke to so and so. If Nokia themselves don't give you a guarantee then it's a rumour, end of story. AAAAAND as we all know that still isn't a guarantee he he he. I've been told face to face by a Nokia official that it was to be released on date X and well what happened... as I expected nothing happened. So we should all be patient and just wait, all these threads and running around trying to find out dates etc, just starts more rumours built more false hopes and make people more bitter... I've ordered and I'll continue to wait because I know it's worth it (if google sync works that is ...) he he he |
