Very much doubt it. You can always try though... Maybe give them a bell and see if you can collect today on a new order?

I got it on contract. I did ask Jon about the MPD deliveries and he told me some are going out tonight. I cant confirm that as true though. Hopefully it is for you guys

From my knowledge the contracts in stores are doing direct with vodafone. Reason being: they dial into the same system vodafone use (they could see how many lines I had been pre-approved for in seconds & can see account details for existing customers).

I got mine this morning @ 10am... from what Jon told me, there are mass amounts of people collecting today & there was a queue by 10:15am!

Got free headphones etc so was great... No MPD stuff just Vodafone order form

Thanks Nirave, very useful to know :) (Toes are also starting to cross now that MPD wake up a bit! :) ) - too much crossing makes me grumpy! hehe

What contract does NFS offer? all of them 24months? do they have 12 or 18 month ones? which ones did you guys get?

exactly the same contracts as MPD, so you can get 12/18 or 24. When I ordered we referenced from the MPD website.

FYI I did the maths and if you're low usage the cheapest way to get it is on a 12 months contract for £30 (25+5 for web) and pay the £60 or £80 for the handset.

Hm strange when I got there 2 weeks ago, they quoted me the 24 months vodafone. I asked is that it, and they said that's it only.

I went into the London flagship store today and spoke to a couple of people.

The first batch of preorders went out last week. I put money down and just made it into the second batch which they will have on Friday. They promised I would be in this (and I have got the guy name who served my and the store managers name) . So fingers crossed.

They said going forward they will be getting a batch in on a weekly basis.

I have to say they were really helpful this morning. I just hope that they were telling me the truth!!!!

When I went in I was first told they were doing the 24 month contracts. I asked if they also did the same deals as MBP then I got direct to John and then I got the 'proper' deals. guessing the commision is high for them if they sell a 24 month, but they're not normally phone contract sales people so as soon as you ask a question they give up.

Re: Nokia N900 - UK Release Related Information

Hey Guys

I have a quick question I hope you can answer. Basically I had made an order with Nokia Online but their still waiting for their second batch to come in and then they have to ship it. I'm leaving for holiday to on Sunday so its looking more and more unlikely that I will receive it before I leave. So I have decided to go and purchase it directly from the Nokia Flagship Store in Regent Street. I just rang them up and the lady (who sounded like she had recently had a lobotomy!) said that they are getting stock on Friday. However she couldnt guarantee that I could get one without putting a pre-order and deposit down. My question is is it possible to make a pre-order and put the deposit down over the phone as im really busy at the moment to actually go in store and get it done.

Thanks. :)

People who preordered from Nokia UK Online and their Flagship store got them... while online third party retailers like MPD and their customers still aren't lucky enough :(

Hi guys,
I ordered from gummobile.com but it has been delayed twice now and now it is showing 31st December but even that is not guaranteed so ive cancelled my order and am looking to get the motorolas milestone which is due out week today. Shame as i really liked the n900 but knowing my luck id get a dodgy one after waiting all that time.

When I spoke to NFS a couple of weeks back they said that they did not always do the same deals as MFD. Went into the store today and pre-ordered my N900. The guy said that they would match the deals on MFD. Got mine on the 18month 600mins + Unl texts + Unl internet £40/month plus I got the 3 months free insurance as well. Guy said I will be able to pick it up friday. Cant wait! Bring on the weekend! :D

Exactly, I pre-ordered a couple the last 22th November and my order is still waiting for ship...

I can't understand how the people on the store are going to get the phone before any other pre-order at nokia uk online.

I would understand it for people on the store who pre-ordered before me but for people after me....

I don't get it. I'm going to get really angry if I don't get my phones shipped before the store start to deliver the phones on Friday.

The worst thing is that I can't do anything... We are going to wait for the N900 yes or yes...

Any other people on my situation?

Yep I ordered on the 24th and the lady said we can't tell you when the next batch is going to arrive. I am giving it until this week, if i don't receive it I am going to get the new motorolla. Nokia have to understand that it is the credit crunch and to get £500 out of someone's pocket is very difficult. Yet they still keep delaying the dam release date.

If i aint the second batch I am going to probably write a formal complaint to nokia lol. See how it goes.

Re: Nokia N900 - UK Release Related Information

They've had 3 ETAs on batches from Nokia. Each was pushed back which lead to them receiving an influx of customers asking for info / cancelling.

Surely they must have some sort of MD that speaks directly with the Nokia higher ups... why can't they get a confirmation? I really don't understand.

I just called NFS, they said you won't need to pre-order to get one on the 4th, but preorders have priority. Looks like i'll be getting there early :P

Also, Just found this. someone must really want it to pay £800 for one.

edit: how much is the deposit they want to preorder?

That's just standard boilerplate in the email. It should be a lot less than that. Of course, you haven't had even one pointless order cancelling yet so you might still have some hoops to jump through...

The guy in NFS today said put the deposit on the phone and you can pick it up on Friday ahead of anyone who queues. I am not entirely sure I believe any of them any more. Will have to wait as see what happens on Friday I guess.

I dont remember how much was the min for the preorder i put the whole lot on but i think the guy next to me who was picking up had put 250 on it

pedrolot, as ewan said that is a boiler plate and they said to me ignoret hat 3-4 weeks thats an auto send out should be a week 10 days max!!!

I don't know if anyone's mentioned this yet but I spoke to a guy in the Regent Street Nokia store and he said that you wont find the phone on T-Mobile until about March 2010. Vodafone has got it exclusively until then.

I've given up and gone with Vodafone on a 18 month contract. Starts off at £40 a month, but then I can drop it to £20 a month after 9 months.

I ordered on Saturday and should have it before Friday. Yippee!

I didnt want to give Vodafone my money so i ordered the HD2 on Tmobile and will sell it to a friend for £500 and buy the N900 when its on the shelves.

That way i get it for £30pm \18m. :D

You've hit the nail on the head there mate. I originally ordered end of October, but reordered direct on 24th Nov. I can accept all the delays (just about!), but to then hear about stock in the shops before I've got mine makes me sick.
