Again - thanks for trying to shed some light on the whole situation. Won't hold it against you if things cock up again as this all stems from Nokia and MPD head office at the end of the day! Do you know roughly what dates fit in to which batches? E.g. 9th/10th October - 1st or 2nd batch? EDIT: Whilst typing, other people asked these exact same things! |
Re: Mobile Phones Direct N900 Customers
I am not sure about the quantity, September- Mid October will be there first batches, Mid October- Mid November will be the second and the rest will be the third one. I am guessing we will need more stock for the third batches but the rest is covered.

Re: Mobile Phones Direct N900 Customers

I reckon 10th October juuuust about counts as early October right? I mean... that's just about the first third, so can't really be in the middle... *prays*. To be fair, so long as some start getting shipped, then I'll know mine is on its way so I'll be happy :-) Out of curiosity - how can MPD not have known when they were coming? A few of us were chatting about tracking numbers - you obviously might not know, but just wondered why they couldn't have just tracked it and told us! Lol. |

I wonder whether it's worth demanding some kind of reparation/compensation for the runaround we've been given. I know that a stereo bluetooth headset, an extra battery or some speakers would go a little way to calming my anger with MPD (not completely you understand, just a little bit) ;) |

Re: Mobile Phones Direct N900 Customers
this 3 batch business is bullscrap from mpd
im sure they have promised us that they would have enough stock to cover all pre-orders, at the time they were saying about 500 preorders placed with delivery of about 700 handsets, and now they saying 3 batches of about 200 - how can they get away with this crap, |

Re: Mobile Phones Direct N900 Customers
I think they'rs ignoring me...
4 emails = no reply phone keeps ringing out i cant even find webchat on the site ordered on 18th Nov, so they prob aren't interested in me right now anyway. I prob wont get mine till next year :( |
Re: Mobile Phones Direct N900 Customers
All i get off my wife is whens your phone coming? is it coming this year? why do you keep saying next week? Why have you ordered a screen protector when you dont have it? Is it coming this week?

even though i'm on this thread and have ordered from MPD still don't feel like an "MPD customer", customers usually pay money and get something in return, MPD won't take my money or give me anything  still being hopeful tho :D |

Re: Mobile Phones Direct N900 Customers
I just got this in my email from MPD regarding my order.
" We will proceed with the order once stock arrives (this is due at the end of next week). Firstly they tell us that stock will arrive this week, and now they have the cheek to say it's next week! Is this wild goose chase ever going to end? I have a HTC HD2 coming in the next few days and if I am satisfied with it then I might cancel my order. Extremely poor customer service if you ask me. |
Re: Mobile Phones Direct N900 Customers
First post, and a question for y'all...I've got one of these elusive devices on pre-order/reserve with MPD since the 21st Nov (left my phone number with a guy on the webchat to add me to the "queue")...however I wonder if any of the Nokia retail stores will hold stock back for walk-ins? I called one and they said they would, but another said the opposite.
What do you think? I haven't actually committed any money to them yet and just giving my phone number for a callback "hen they're in stock" sounds a bit dubious anyway, so if a store has stock on Friday I would be happy to nip in and pick one up! |
Re: Mobile Phones Direct N900 Customers
I ordered on the 17th Nov
I've not had ANY email since whilst some of you are getting all sorts of stuff, I'm not sure if I should be worried or not. My order tracking is showing pending as everyone else. TBH I'm in no major rush, I've an e90 now and my current contract runs out 24th Dec but if it runs another week or so it won't kill me..... lets be honest there is far more crap happening in the world than us not getting our new toys! I've not chased MPD as TBH there comes a point when all the chasing does nothing but stop people actually doing there job. We can all shout and scream till the cows come home, it won't make it arrive any quicker... let teh guys get on with teir jobs and we have a chance of it getting here a little earlier. OK, MPD could have done a little better but hey, show me a webtailer that doesn;t have issues with high desireable, low availability kit there comes a certain amount of pain being an early adopter, get used to it, accept the things you can't change and change the things you can. I spent nearly 12 months waiting for stuff to be ported from S60 V2 to V3 when I got my N80, learn patience and work with people rather than against them and you will feel much much better inside yourself... remember , 9 months down teh line your memories will be of a superb piece of kit, not the pain of getting it |

is there a reason i'm missing why someone would choose sim-free over contract? answer (i think) was: because contract is better value for money. please tell me i've not lost the plot. :D |
