Re: So what did you expect?
You know what I expect from the N900 ? It to work as advertised! It seems more and more that it does not. I expect it to do all the things Nokia say's it can do. I expect it to do all the things it was designed to do. And do them well for that price. And I expect this out of the box. There are a lot of people making a lot of excuses for how ,why, its new, bla bla bla. They designed it, they built it, they advertised it, they hyped it. Now Nokia its put up or shut up time.
Oh and I expect good customer service from any company selling high end devices. Nokia not so good with there handling of the N900 right now. |

Re: So what did you expect?
I expect to have an N810 I can push video out of. I expect I'll try to convert it to VGA and push it to a screen so I can do some quick and dirty presentations, latex file editing and processing, stuff like that. I don't expect wonderful video, btw... I just hope that conversion option will rest my eyes somewhat.
I doubt I'll worry overly about the phone, although I might plug it in. I expect to keep my N810 so I can do the things it can do that the N900 can't. I expect the N900 will disappoint some because they want a phone. I actually like my little phone and I expect I'll keep it. I expect it to be my travel device, basically. |
Re: So what did you expect?
I'm hoping it will be a step up from the N95 but with better web browsing capabilities than the n97....more memory, more speed and better screen. I don't really want to follow the iphone crowd, its too normal, I like to be a leader rather than a follower.....

Most important is what they want to say - after all, I want to know if I should take the call or not. A dealbreaker if it can't do that, I think. |

I will say the removing the back cover of the N900 felt awkward the first time I did it. I'm used to mobile devices that employ release sliders of one variety or another for their battery doors, so simply pulling the cover off initially left me fearing I'd break something. At this point, I'm not worried about the N900's rear cover at all. It's not difficult to remove, I'm not worried it will break, and I certainly find it faster and easier to remove than the battery cover of my N810. No matter how I hold my N810 when I open it, I'm always left with the feeling I've got it backwards somehow or perhaps that two hands is one fewer than I'm meant to have for the task. |
