The thing is, I have no order confirmation from Nokia.... so I do not know if I'm actually going to receive the device.... and no order # etc. So I emailed nokia to see if they could let me know whether or not I actually bought the damn thing.

Then, if I did, I have to decide which order to cancel....Amazon or Nokia

EDIT: WTF..... now the 636 or w/e dollars just disappeared from my debit account. Please do not tell me that I just bought two phones from Nokia. AH THIS IS TERRIBLE

lol.. 636? 2 x phone? how man... 316 dollars each?

well call up NOKIA to confirm your order

Well I can't call Nokia cause they're closed today.

But no, I'm saying I got a call from the bank.... to authorize a $630 charge on my Credit card...

Then, I looked at my debit account and noticed another $630 charge from Nokia USA.

So apparently two transactions that Nokiausa said failed went through.... and I have no order # or confirmation..... AHHHHH!

Aahahahhahahahaha....NokiaUSA just declined my Amex Centurion.... I know it's ****ed up but I'm actually laughing my *** off right now for two reasons...1 ) I have no limit.... 2 ) Amex called to make sure it was me placing the order ( since I've done allot of Christmas shopping ) even though they didn't block it from going through... Nokia fails at life...

On another note, I have to agree with Laughing--Amazon in no way has enough stock to fill all pre-orders. If they did then we all wouldn't be going through absolute hell with their customer service.

Re: Amazon?

This is pitiful... Nokia needs to reevaluate their entire company after this release :p

How the F*CK are they going to succeed when their website won't even let people spend $640 on a phone. :p

Also that 179 number being floated around doesn't sound right. I mean Amazon would receive less inventory than the two US Nokia stores? I don't buy that.

dude, those number are the left over amount. I think NOKIAUSA stock up more because they wanted to release it on at the Flagship Stores.

Beside They cannot ship the device before they update the status to "Shipping Soon" first which meant Monday will not be true and impossible to change from "NOT YET SHIPPED" to "SHIPPED". Amazon known to be slow at pre-ordering stuff. And they usually do not want to bulk load the device before they received enough Pre-order number. Therefore it is impossible that they will satisfying us 2000- 5000 orders or even more now on their site.

The supervisor of the Amazon told few of the guys posted here that there are not enough device in stock to ship to everyone, they only had 170+ device and the line is more than 2000+. Right now they shipping one by one and I presume that they would only have around 140+ devices left. So NO MONDAY shipping i supposed, may be to a few September pre-order only or early October.

trust me alot of people got the same issues. Call Nokia up and they will send you the cancellation confirmation and then refund your order. Then buy over the phone instead of online. :)

I hear you but bottom line is the Amazon reps are pretty useless. After I saw this email I contacted them and sat on the phone for 15 minutes showing a rep online where folks talked about having the phone shipped. She adamantly stuck with the none in stock line, not yet received garbage, no one is receiving orders and the classic I wouldn't lie to you. That one cut our conversation short as I started to get a bit vexed with her BS...

Oh well aside from canceling, ordering from Nokia and losing around around 80 bucks in the process what can you do? Yeah I want the phone NOW but I don't want to bite my nose to spite my face. Sigh...

Re: Amazon?

PS - Do you all think that Amazon would get more pre-orders than just 2000+? I mean BLT Catalog (shopblt.com) is showing 15,685 as a back ordered count with 22,000+ incoming.

By the way that site was showing 11/27 as the date they expected to receive their inventory and now it is showing 12/09...

argggggggg 09th December? wtf lol.. So they've been lying over and over again. they told few of the guys that their are 2000 pre-orderer in the line for shipping and the device are only 172 lol. That also a big lie.

so 20000 devices needed to compensate the customers or atleast they could do is to give us all free shipping at 1-day rate.

I just cant quantify the Change to Nokiausa.com order... $522 inc. shipping vs. $479 in shipping..(after rebates)

thats a $40 USD swing. (many 'pacific pesos')

I'll just be patient an wait to see what happens. Hard when I am the most impatient person I know.

"Just stop logging in here every 5 minutes and refreshing the amazon order status page"

Tui - Yeah Right.

The Dec 9 date is for BLT. They previously listed 11/27. The thing is those small 2k numbers don't make sense using BLT's negative inventory as a bench mark (unless they do more sales than Amazon for this type of product).

It'll probably be too late for rebates once Amazon ships the device

Pretty much too late.. We can always blame Amazon and request Nokia to compensate our delay of their release

Who's Nokia's US distributor of the phone? Because I would think the phones would go to them first, then shipped out to Newegg, Amazon.

Tui - Yeah Right.

If I really, really want a new tech toy I don't mind spending the extra money to get it. As much as I want the N900, I don't 'really, really' want it...and in my opinion, I'd rather save money. The $100+ I'd save staying with Amazon instead of going with Nokia, is almost a full box of Partagas D.No4.

Like I said though, I'll wait till Friday, after which I'll cancel and get the new BB Bold.

Re: Amazon?

For those of us concerned about the rebate status (since Amazon may not get enough stock to ship to all the preorders before Jan. 7th). So it seems you have to ask them about that and if they don't get the device to you by then they'll honor the rebate (probably in the form of Amazon credit but I use their service often enough anyway). Remember, just because I got it doesn't mean you will automatically get it, you have to ask them about it. But this restored some faith in Amazon for me at least. :)

We're sorry to hear that you will not be able to submit your rebate request before the deadline date because of the shipping delay.

Due to the circumstances, I have arranged an exception for the offer. However, if the rebate doesn't apply to your order please write back to us, we will honor the rebate to your order.

Please save this message. It is possible that your claim to the offer will initially be denied. If this happens, please use the link below to reply to us. We will ensure that the appropriate rebate is sent to you within 6-8 weeks.

I checked your order # and see that "Nokia N900 Unlocked Cell Phone/Mobile Computer" hasn't been released yet and the expected release date is not known. We'll make sure to update our website listing when we know more.

I'm sorry we are unable to be more precise about the availability of "Nokia N900 Unlocked Cell Phone/Mobile Computer". The message you received from us reflects the best information from suppliers we have at this time. I realize this has caused you inconvenience, and I hope you will accept my apologies..

Not so fast. You have to pay a 10% to 15% restocking fee for nokiausa.com returns, so in the end it's better to stick with nokia's store if you're going to do what you're suggesting.

That hasn't been my past experience. I've preordered several video games from them and they have always arrived on or before the stated release date. (I got Wii Fit two days before release thanks to Amazon and overnight shipping..would much rather have that service on the N900, though)

Re: Amazon?

Amazon is never slow preordering stuff. As wierdo mentioned, video game releases are usually on-time or even early. Amazon ships items a few days early so that you'll recieve your item on or before the release date. If you should be mad it should be at Nokia for botching up the N900's release and not Amazon, Newegg, Dell, etc..

My 11/9 order is still "not yet shipped." I've decided that if I get it before Christmas, I'll be happy. I still have the SDK to play with and get my programming fix until then.

Can't find much about it on my existing order.
