I ordered mine from Amazon with overnight shipping on 12/11/2009 after confirming that their website said "in stock." I first received an estimated delivery date of 12/15/2009, which was (some time in the next eight hours, when I checked it next) changed to 12/18/2009. I called to complain about it, and was guaranteed that it would ship out on 12/17/2009 despite my doubts about availability. On 12/17/2009 I logged in and found that it said it would be delivered on 12/19/2009. When I called to complain (and ask who delivered overnight packages on a Saturday) they said that it would in fact only be in stock on 12/19/2009, and would ship out on 12/20/2009. I then ended up arguing with the representative over whether or not UPS or any other carrier would ship on a Sunday, and eventually was escalated to someone with a local accent, who confirmed my suspicion that it would not be shipping until 12/21/2009. They offered me a five dollar credit for my trouble.

I just checked and it has a delivery date of 12/22/2009, which corresponds with a 12/21/2009 shipment.

I'm without a cell phone for the time being. My iPhone 3GS happened to be destroyed (not by me, but that's another story) and I decided to replace it with the n900. The delay in shipping is causing me major inconveniences and potential income loss because my line of work is very dependent on my phone... So, I'm debating canceling this order and paying more to get it from another vendor who can be reliable about shipments or just giving up on the idea of an N900 and purchasing another 3GS. Does anyone know where I can get one, even at additional cost, by the 22nd for sure? Or do you think we can trust Amazon to get these out on time?

www.nokiausa.com has them in stock for $569 plus (affordable) shipping.

That's definitely your best bet if you need the phone now and are willing to pay a few more bucks.

Glad I ordered mine last week, seems amazon just bumped their price up to $628. Mine also has change from "Not yet shipped" to "Shipping Soon" Getting pretty excited.

I was just getting ready to post this! It said shipping soon for my order too I got one day shipping and I see the price jump they saw it was high in demand and raised it like a poker shark on the hunt! Glad I kept my order and the Nokia sale is only to the 20th so order fast as after that it goes back to the regular price after the 20th. If we get lucky they ship then today and not wait til Monday

*sidenote* Amazon charged me for my order which means its gotta be shipped today or something but no later than Monday. I just checked my account. Hope this is good news

My Amazon saga appears to be over. I've posted my status twice previously (two pages earlier, and around post #840, back in early Dec), but NOW Amazon's shipped.

Ordered 2 Dec.
On 3 Dec, my expected delivery date was the 9th.
On the 8th, they slipped it to the 15th.
On the 12th, they slipped it to the 17th.
On the 16th, they slipped it to the 23rd.

*** Hopefully Final UPDATE ***

@6pm on Fri, 18th, Amazon shipped it.
Delivery expected on 22 Dec.

I guess Sat doesn't count towards shipping? Sounds funny to say shipped on the 18th, and will arrive on 22nd with 2-day shipping!

Hope this tale helps folks know what to expect from Amazon/Nokia. If the price is right and the potential wait / status changes are acceptable, do it. If you NEED reliable delivery and paying a little more is acceptable, go elsewhere.

My replacement N900 just shipped, with a delivery day of the 21st. I guess Monday I'm shipping out the old one back to Amazon. The amount of reboots have gotten painful.

Ordered on 21st Nov 2009 from Amazon, and i received mine on 12th Dec 2009.

And yeah its worth the wait :).

I loved the new phone.

For those that thinking nokia n900 can be used during driving with bluetooth, dont throw away your old phone, the current firmware still having problem with bluetooth.

Keep disconnecting after few minutes.

Other than that, its a great phone.

I ordered mine the 18th and it still shows a delivery estimate of December 23th. I'm assuming Amazon will ship it out tomorrow.

If the phone does not arrive by the 25th I will call / email to complain in an attempt to receive a discount. If it doesn't arrive by the first of January, I will call / email to complain in order to receive my rebate.

We wont know until tomorrow if our orders will ship out.

Don't know what Bluetooth Handsfree you have in your vehicle, but the Parrot in my F450 and the Mercedes BT systems work great with the phone.

Only thing I miss is the ability to download address books to the BT systems in my vehicles.

Why do you think Amazon delisted the n900? It was a high seller for them for quite a while.

I suppose one reason could be a high return rate (I returned mine for a replacement for DOA unit). Another might just be difficulty in getting stock.

My delivery date is dec 22nd still havent gotten an email from amazon saying it has shipped but the day is young. I think it was delisted because they couldn't supply the demand for it with this shipment of there stock.

My order status been saying shipping soon since friday the 18th and that's the date it was suppose to been there so I don't know if they will ship out today but amazon need to be firing out some email to people today or something cause my delivery date is set for tomorrow and if it don't come tomorrow they going to have to comp me for another missed ship date

FedEx? Interesting. All my Amazon packages come UPS whether I choose 2nd day or next day. Did you have to do something really different to get FedEx?

BTW: Mine arrived today around 4 (CST). Too bad we we were having an early dinner party. I had just enough time to insert the battery and plug it in.

Now we're off to buy a Christmas tree. ;-)

did you buy your first from amazon?... I only ask becuase my order finally shipped yesterday ( with a delivery of the 23rd, YAH!:D I check the tracker through out the day, it was last scaned in TN.. wish i was at home in KY because i would have it sooner:rolleyes: ) but I'm worried after all this waiting, its posible i may have an issue, which would lead to more waiting for a new one. I just wonder if this is a certain batch from a distributor, or what ... or if it was even narrowed down to that point yet, because its just strange that these issues keeps arrising and they are still selling, unless the hold up of shippments were due to this in part.

Finally got home to my N900 waiting for me to play with. I open the package... and the box is slightly damaged, like someone was already using it. It looked like someone opened it from the side.

I open it anyway, and the phone looked unused, so I begin to play with it very lightly. What do I find? It won't charge and it rebooted on me TWICE within 10 minutes. Time to sleep my anger/frustration off. Looks like this one may be going back to Amazon if I can't get it to function properly tomorrow. :(

Yes, the first was ordered from Amazon. But it was shipped out of Addison, IL. back on December 4th. The first was a preorder unit I ordered on November 5th, and I was out of the country when it arrived. I didn't discover it was DOA until I returned on December 17th.

I wouldn't worry anout getting a lemon too much. Although many people have had troubles, I think it's a pretty low percentage. I'm at least optimistic.

I hope/guessing the real reason for the hold up with the stock is to fix the bad batch coming out. I remember when sprint got the touch pro they had to stop the first shipment to put in the heat shield and reflash the rom to a better updated one which took a week or so. So I hope that they fixed the problems the first batch of n900 had

I really hope that doesnt happen to me too xD i think that is a problem with the hardware of the phone i think the first phones that the people buy have these problems just you buy a phone of the first stock or the first phones i think so and the package is damaged because they service are not alowed to protect the phone or package and if alowed you need to pay more on noka.com when you order the phone they give you the option of protect the cell phone or the package amazon not allowed for that

If it makes you feel any better MattSide ordered his N900 from Dell, NOT from Amazon. While his post says Amazon, all of his previous posts are in relation to dell.

My n900 comes in tomorrow!!
