I am sorry but I must giggle...

I ordered from nokiausa.com on 11/28 for $620 with shipping and taxes and got a confirmation TODAY that it has been shipped as of 11/28. I even got a Fedex tracking number and it is currently in Indianapolis.

Honestly, I didnt even want it. I ordered it thinking it would say January and I would probably cancel. Now I am selling my N97 (for $300US) and will have my N900 probably by Tue the latest.

I agree, pre-orders should have gotten it before me but life is unfair. If you REALLY want this phone, cancel your preorder and order from nokiausa.com...period.

PS: I plan on offering it on Craigslist in DFW this week in case there is somebody it needs it more than me.

i would gladly join those canceling their amazon orders and going with one of the places that actually are shipping the phone, but unfortunately i'm stuck with amazon seeing as how i had about $300 worth of gift cards with them. oh well maybe the folks canceling with amazon will bump me up in the pre order line. i'm seriously so tired of looking at that not yet shipped status that i'm not sure i will believe it if it ever changes.

Same..... so tired of refreshing that damn page.
Right now I'm getting the N900 for $524 shipped 1 day and then the $50 nokia rebate on top of that..... whereas I would pay $640 on NokiaUSA..... just can't do it yet..... $160 swing.....

yet...

Honestly, between working, studying (for finals too), and playing videogames in what little free time I have time is flying. I'm more worried that I won't get it before Christmas arrives. My mom decided she won't use the phone since she said a calling card was cheaper.

Sounds like me with this thread :)

Amazon pre-order 18 Nov
Ship address: Chicago
$479 inc rebate
103-454....... order No.
"Not yet shipped"

Can those who had their status changed tell me if they ever saw this message?

"The following item will arrive after December 25, 2009" ?

I am assuming this is just a system generate flag for items that may be presents that do not have confirmed shipping yet. Once a shipping date is known the 'flag' disappears?

Cheers

yeah, there is at least one person over at the amazon board who said they have had their phone shipped even after seeing that dec 25th message. it doesn't seem to be any indication of when you will get yours shipped. seems to be a generic message added to every preorder placed or changed after a certain date.

It's a generic message from Amazon whenever they are not sure when stock will arrive.

What about all the people that have tried to order from nokiausa.com and had their order cancelled, some multiple times?

Honestly, I dont know. But, I refreshed and saw "in stock" so thought I would go ahead and order. I am only ordering because I have 3 buyers of my N97 at $300US. Yea NokiaUSA is higher but hell the N97 was a gift.

Re: Amazon?

I finally pulled the trigger on the Amazon preorder on 10/17 - still says "not yet shipped - we need a little more time..."

I've been emailing them asking for status but they keep saying that it hasn't been released. Today I got sick of emailing them so talked to them on the phone.

At first he said "not released yet" but then I said that my "friends" had it shipped from Amazon and he said "it must have been an Amazon marketplace seller." I said NO, it was definitely Amazon, and asked him to look up orders for the N900. He came back and said that they "had" 171 in stock but had over 2500 orders and they had no idea when any more would be in stock.

I asked him how I could keep my order when they might ship it this week or they might not ship until March (not sure why I said March!) and he apologized and said there was nothing he could do about it...

Obviously we need to take everything they say with a grain of salt but it's interesting info straight from Amazon and substantiates that a few of you have had yours shipped. And at least it's good that it seems they're shipping in order!

I think Amazon and newegg both knew that they would be shipping the phone in October 30th long time ago, the only difference is that newegg was brave and honest enough to say so ..

Ok I know Nokia hasn't been too great with sending out phones to sellers, but surely 171 is not right.

Except newegg offered it for sale on the 25th and filled those orders before their pre-orders.

There hasn't been a retailer that has handled this release worth a damn, but it appears that nokiausa got their %$&# together first. I'm more than happy to pay a little more and have the thing by 3p Monday. I hope my cancelled orders at Amazon and Newegg help a couple of you guys out...

I was about to cancel my Amazon order and go with the $569 nokia.com deal but then I realized they charge tax (why??) so it's $622 express with tax to CO. That's almost $100 more than my Amazon order so I'll wait a bit longer and see what happens- after all I've waited this long so far! And my E71 is still fine...

NSchuyler 2009-11-29 05:40

Re: Amazon?

Dear god, it would not be so hard for them to just open up and tell us what kind of stock they have, that they're shipping in order, and Next Shipment: Unknown.

I would like that and to know what # I am on the list. Period.

If it's worth it to me, I'll stick with them.

When I talked to the lady on the phone about switching from the 9th of Oct. to Nov. 20th, she assured me that there would be no difference because they would have enough phones for all preorders. At least all preorders + mine up to that date.

That no longer appears to be the case so I traded a $50 F*CKING dollar gift card for a wait of an unknown amount of time.... or a $160 F*CK you from NokiaUSA.

We have been totally ripped off paying extra for 1-day shipping in order to get our device faster, only to have it stuck in the shipping process endlessly.

I actually would think they want all of the devices to arrive on monday/tuesday.... so they ship the slower shipping ones so that htey won't arrive before the weekend adn then the faster 1 day shipping on monday...

Don't want Nokia getting mad at them for giving us things we paid for months ago ahead of when Nokia said they had to make us wait for.....

Re: Amazon?

Preordered on Amazon on Sep 19th. Changed the price twice. Never got thrown to the back. I emailed Amazon this week asking what's going on with the "Not released Yet" status when it was already announced as released and shipping with other vendors. I received a reply saying that it's quite common for a delay between release and shipping (whatever). Then Yesterday my order status changed to "Shipping Soon" and impossibility to cancel. Next was a nice e-mail today... It shipped today. CAN YOU HEAR ME DO THE HAPPY DANCE.... UGA CHAGA UGA CHAGA. Interestingly Amazon still shows the status on their website as "Not released yet".

P.S. My final price after all the rebates will be $489. To top it off I had Amazon Gift certs for $450 so my final out of pocket expense will be $39.

I order a ton of stuff through Amazon, but I gave up on them with the n900. I switched to NokiaUSA yesterday (unfortunately had to pay tax on it) and I got a fedex tracking number today saying that it'll be here on Monday. It totally blows my mind why there is a hold up with Amazon, but as I need the n900 before Dec 2nd I wasn't going to risk waiting.

Congratulation buddy. I wish I could do the same. I would not mind paying 650USD Cash though. I got money just I dont live in USA which I do not know my brother in law credit card lol. So Gotta stick to what he entered for me on Amazon.

I sent many complaint about their sluggish performance of providing their customers with a proper support and dishonesty. Hopefully I get to the front of the priority list though mine is order on the 23rd November lol. But I need the phone before the 20th December 2009.:o

Apparently I'm not from USA lol. New Zealand that is. We are already just got out of the recession period. But not yet recovered. Oh well, My planed was to get this device for less than 750USD. lol I already exchanged the money to USD from NZD. But 18.70USD for 1 day shipping is seem quite a bit much. On the other hand I want to get this Device ASAP though. Which I cant wait another day if the status said "SHIPPED" then I will have to go through 2 step delivery system.

One is Amazon shipped it to My sister and brother in law first, then they tested the device and making sure that the Stupid MIcrophone is working then,

Two is to send it from USA to New Zealand to me. Which may take another week or so. So the faster they get it the earlier I may get it as well.

Oh guys take a read the review from GSMARENA.. they do an extract version review of the device. Alot of positives:D and a few negatives.

Quite possibly you are correct....... but that still leaves me ripped off for paying for 1-day shipping when I am going to get the device the same day as those who paid nothing for super saver shipping.
