In addition, the Nokia Messaging client has some nice synchronisation options - eg. only collect email every 30 minutes between 08:00 and 00:00 on a Mon-Fri. If I just setup a standard email connection with my ISP - ie. not through NM - then the N900 would be vibrating away throughout the night as it picked up new email, no thanks. :)

If its missing its probably because you dont have a 3g connection or the servers were busy when the wizard started. Often a reboot seems to bring it back. As mentioned before the main fearture of Nokia Messging is that it turns your common old garden webmail to push email like magic. Also remember that both Hotmail and Yahoo only offer POP access, no IMAP

Perhaps another network in Israel has white-labeled Nokia Messaging which is preventing you from accessing it on your network?

@mikec - any idea how to tell if the N900 is taking advantage of push? I've configured the N900 to use Nokia Messaging for my Zen ISP POP servers, would push be supported when the remote mailserver is POP based? The NM client is set to "Send & Receive immediately", however Modest has another setting to "update every 30 minutes". Pretty sure I'm only receiving email periodically rather than immediately.

Yes the main thing is push for up to 10 email addresses.
