OK, so it'll scratch, but will it blend?

I'd be very interested to read tehkseven's N900 review. It should be quite un-biased.

He doesn't seem like a fanboy, he hated the n97 and he's not going to make any excuses just because he paid 500 GDP for it..

Added to OP. Thanks guys! :)

Let's see if I can change the thread title...

EDIT: I don't believe I can, like I suspected.

Re: N900 screen scratch test

It's not a scratch test, it's a ***** test.

I've had my N900 everywhere with me, alone in one of my pockets. It's been dropped several times on grass, concrete and more from heights of 3 feet up to 6 feet. Everything's still working fine. The outside casing is still looking brand new. The front still looks as good as day one except for a tiny pair of scratches at the bottom right corner, which isn't on the screen. It's been pretty solid and still looks gorgeous and I haven't used a screen protector. Why?

Because I'm not a complete dumbass putting it in a pocket with keys, grains of sand or anything else.

So if you're a little more clumsy about your electronics than I am, a simple screen protector should be all you ever need.

That may be, but I still appreciate seeing at least one example of where the limit is, how much it takes to destroy the screen (and other parts).

Also, are we sure there are no hardware differences quality-wise between the pre-production devices like yours and the production devices? Materials and assembly might change when you go to mass-production, I suppose.

I don't want to see the vid. For me it's like your GF getting
tortured in front of you.

How about do a vid of scratch test with different screen protectors
on and see which protectors delivers and see which would would
work like there's no screen protectors on. :)
