Re: N900 screen scratch test
Hi where can I find the iphone and HD test's that you have done.
thank you |
Re: N900 screen scratch test
I can recommend the Vikuiti-DQC-160 screen protector for Nokia N900.
Does not interfere with stylus or finger use in my opinion and can be replaced/removed without residue too. Very clear. (There is a batch out there that is slightly too big and requires a bit cutting, no problem that either with an e.g. office straight-line paper cutter, but the newer batch is good size.) |

Re: N900 screen scratch test
Hey guys!
Its Jon again, are you ready for part 3 of the stress tests? :) Here is the video and article for the N900 Pocket Test: http://www.tehkseven.net/news/nokia-...-pocket-tests/ Enjoy! @bugelrex I believe we are quite unbiased :). The mobile world has why too much fanboyism and favouritism, which can inevitably make customers make the wrong purchase. Most of them will most likely not admit to the flaws, since they just shelled out $400-$600 USD or GBP for a brand new phone. With these videos, and our future posts, we plan on telling it what it is. Because we have and continue to shy away from saying "zomg, I love Nokia. They are the best.. just cause!", we have received quite a bit of negative comments from quite a few Nokia users. But, we feel that this is worth it if we can speak our minds and help a few people make the right mobile financial decisions. P.S. We plan on devoting an episode based on user requested tests and experiments. Leave a test suggestion in one of our Youtube videos. Who knows, you might just get what you wish for ;). P.P.S. You guys of the Maemo forum have been absolutely wonderful to us (with the exception of a couple). Thank you guys so much for your support. |
Re: N900 screen scratch test
Seems quite a strudy device, maybe dropping it with the keyboard open would have been destructive though.

Can't beat the HD2's screen.

Re: N900 screen scratch test
Well that was fun to watch however practical or unpractical it may be. These guys provide a valuable service as Nokia or it manufacturers don't appear to do much testing or QA ;).

Re: N900 screen scratch test
I just bought a second N900, used. It has several tiny scratches on the screen. I think this is normal and I shouldn't worry about it.
However, I was assured by several respected denizens of this site that my idea that the N900 screen was easily scratched was false. Therefore, perhaps I should freak out about these scratches and demand a replacement unit from Nokia. Is my new (used) N900 defective? |
Re: N900 screen scratch test
@geneven:
what i know is, the n900 screen is more prone to scratches than other resistive screens of nokia (i dont know for others) my first scratch on my n900 was the fault of my long nails, the first scratch of my n97 was done by falling from a 10 steps stairs. |
Re: N900 screen scratch test
My suspicion is that anyone buying an N900 that has been used for six months that hasn't been used with a screen protector will find at least some tiny scratches, like this one has, so I agree.

Re: N900 screen scratch test
I was surprised too when I saw a couple of light scratches due to stylus use. That was just over a period of 2-3 days until the Zagg Shield arrived.
If scratches are visible, adding a screen protector makes them go away, at least in my experience they're not visible anymore. |
