Re: Is there any form of moderation on these forums?

IMHO there should be 2 more subforums
-complaints (could be called rants as well)
-reviews

This would be great to actually reduce the noise in n900 subforum and future devices.

We're walking a fine line here, trying to manage the forum without being heavy-handed. If you see violations, though, use report this and specifiy the offense, thanks.

I reported the thread that is promoting the sharing of an unofficial leaked RC for N900 and that there is no moderator doing anything about it and is instead participating in it.

Well, it's out. Can't exactly bottle it back up, so what good would locking/deleting the thread accomplish?

Best to counter any misinformation and keep people on track then try to brush it under the rug and pretend it doesn't exist.

That would be me. I don't see the thread as a problem at this point-- despite the provocative subject, it's been very tame in there.

You may disagree with that opinion, and that's fine. If Reggie tells me I was wrong I'll of course go by whatever he says.

We are not iFruity.

I would think that we do not wish to send policemen after people who leak.

Speaking of moderators, I seem to have lost my moderator powers (probably due to my not being around much in the past month or so), may I have them back?

Ok guys, no fighting please.

Lardman, I'll mention that to Reggie.

Please don't confuse a difference of opinion with lack of moderation. Again: we try not to be heavy-handed. Warnings first. And post deletions are definitely a last resort. Keep in mind that's evidence deleted.
