Russian N900 community - MaemoWorld.ru
MaemoWorld.ru is the first russian community dedicated to Nokia N900. In our content you can find original video and photo reports from N900 meetup in Moscow, translated descriptions of applications and games. We support the knowledge base in the format of wikipedia, trying to help all russian users to better understand how the devices works on Maemo.
Re: The oldest Russian N900 community - MaemoWorld.ru
I'm sorry, but:
maemoworld.ru: created: 2009.08.29 You really think that before 29.08 there was no site dedicated to maemo devices for russian-speaking users? :) |
Re: The oldest Russian N900 community - MaemoWorld.ru
There were no sites with a lot of current news about N900
|
Re: The oldest Russian N900 community - MaemoWorld.ru
Well, there used to be separate Maemo-related forum topics on various russian mobile-related websites, but as far as I know there hadn't been any websites dedicated to Maemo before MeamoWorld.ru.

Re: The oldest Russian N900 community - MaemoWorld.ru
There is n8xx.com which exists since August 2007. It is quite stable community. And I'm not even mentioning Mobile-Review.com forums with a lot of insightful info being shared earlier than you have registered your website.
This situation with people claiming they are the only source in certain language is very familiar here. We did see it with "All about ..." things and other bloggers in English speaking world. Sorry guys, you are not the only ones and certainly not the oldest community. Do something more positive than just reposting videos and news already published by others. |

Re: The oldest Russian N900 community - MaemoWorld.ru
Guys, please do not try to present yourself as "the only" ones or "the first one", it simply does not work that way in community that is already 4 years public. N900 is newest one but not the only device in a family that shares quite a lot of similar tricks and approaches. I understand a desire for Ferra.ru to step onto "uncharted" area but it is hardly a news. http://internet-tablet.com/ for example has been covering Maemo for almost 2 years already.
I personally don't care about reports from Meetups from news sites. I have read enough of those by people who were there either on this forum or at forum.mobile-review.com, or in LJ. Your wiki effort is a good one though not unique, if you would really get contributions there. N8xx.com has extensive information gathered over years in their wiki. Personally, I'm tired by need to register at all those various forums to even do minimal commenting on errors in articles, like the one on your side where you have been gathering hotkeys for N900 and where it recommends things that we (developers) actually do not recomment to use for normal users (like CTRL-SHIFT-X -- X term called this way does not die and becomes zombie). If only all those "the only" sites would support OpenID... |

Re: The oldest Russian N900 community - MaemoWorld.ru
If you would implement OpenID there (and at Ferra.ru), please tell me. You can find my contacts at maemo.org's profile page.
As to MeetUp, my colleagues were there, presenting Maemo Devices, so I have had good coverage. ;) |

I missed the point of posting it here... And posting it in general. If russian-speaking user gonna see your post here, it will have no effect ;) It's good only for search engines.
Nothing personal. |

Re: The oldest Russian N900 community - MaemoWorld.ru
(Edit)DISCLAIMER: Only addresses claims made in english!!!!
The OP says maemoworld.ru is the oldest russian language website dedicated the n900. Nobody has produced any evidence to the contrary and seeing as how the n900 wasn't even KNOWN about until earlier this year, having registered in 2008 certainly lends a lot of credence to his claims. I, for one, believe that he is telling the truth. Not speaking russian though, I don't have much use for the site. I suppose I could use google translate... hmm i might check it out. Quote:

No hard feelings meant to anyone. Its late and I'm irritated by something else so I'm taking it out on an internet forum rather than murdering people and causing general mayhem. I apologize. |
Re: The oldest Russian N900 community - MaemoWorld.ru
mmurfin87, what you have said had made a sense if there wouldn't be Russian version of the original poster's message. It claims generic Maemo coverage, not narrowly focused on N900.
So what I said still holds and KiRiK has tried to edit the thread title to reflect that (but was unable to fix it). New sites are nice to have, of course. But let the users themselves evaluate your resource. Claims for "oldest" within few months of inception are hardly qualifying as substantial. P.s. Even though my registration on TMO is about the same time, you can check my maemo.org account for "age". :-) If only that would mean anything... |

Re: The oldest Russian N900 community - MaemoWorld.ru
wazd, abbra, of course you are right.
n8xx.com is the first, the oldest Russian Maemo (N800, N810, N900) community and contains a lot of usefull information for Maemo users in Russia. As I have said, I have changed the title, but with no effect. I think, there is need to ask the moderators. Sorry for my misinformation, if any be. |
Re: The oldest Russian N900 community - MaemoWorld.ru
