change ringtone

I feel embarrassed to ask this. And I wish there was a less prominent place to do it. But the search button didn't help me, so I'm stuck with opening a thread..

I own my N900 for two days now. And I can, for the love of it, not figure out how to change my ringtone. Neither for Phone, for skype or for sms.
Can somebody please explain it to me and end my embarrassment?

Thank you..

Menu, settings, profiles, then scroll down on the left hand side, you should see ringing tone under General, (Under vibrate too!) - doesnt look like it can scroll, but it can :)

Click that button, and select the tone you want :) (Again, scroll, even though it looks like it can't)

Even after going in there about 15 times I still initially forget it can scroll.

Thanks, guys. I thought I was going crazy for not figuring out something as basic as that. ;)

This seems to happen to quite a few people in several applications. Maybe Nokia should rethink the value they assign to providing visual cues.

i agree - has been posted here a few times, i think it's starting to show the benefits of spending my life on here before i actually got the device! :)

do need a user faq... something simple and easy to use. As much as i love pushing people to the search engine, they never do use it!

Don't worry, I couldn't find it either. I assumed that there was no way to change the ringtone (being a basic phone an all), until I was in XTerminal and saw a directory full of ringtones...

Roger
