Collection of working flash games on the N900

Hey there,

If this thread belongs to the game section please move it there.

today I decided to test some of my favorite flash games on the N900 in order to see wether or not I could play them at a decent frame rate, the results were surprisingly good.

I thought opening a thread where other N900 owners can share their experience with different flash games would be a great idea.
Also I don't know if it's legal to post direct links to the .swf files, so I posted links to pages where these games are embedded. As stated below, I can strongly recommend downloading the swf file to your N900's storage since this will increase the performance of the game.

So here are the games I've tested so far:

Bejewled (clone)

http://www1.xup.in/tn/2009_12/74965069.png

Results: working, though it seems like the game responds a little bit slow to your actions, stylus recommended.Gives you an error message when starting, but you can ignore it.

Elemental Tower Defense

http://www1.xup.in/tn/2009_12/13979861.png

Results: working - FPS decreases when there are ~10+ creeps on the map. Stylus recommended.
Tip: You should put an .html file into the folder where the swf is located, containing:

Code:

<embed
  src="FlashElementTD.swf"
  width="650"
  height="450"
  allowscriptaccess="always"
  allowfullscreen="true"
/>

Otherwise you'll get an error which says that the game isn't displayed in the proper resolution.

Tetris

Results: working

I know there's "Blocks" pre-installed, but I prefer this version since you can play it in landscape mode - arrow keys are more handy

Squares 2

http://www1.xup.in/tn/2009_12/60676671.png

Results: Working with slow fps - makes this type of game "too easy" + you have to use the "simulated mouse" in order to play it, which is quite tricky. Stylus recommended.

Fishy

http://www1.xup.in/tn/2009_12/13023957.png

Result: working - Error Message when started embedded, but again, you can ignore it.

Starting it embedded is strongly recommended as it increases the game's performance significantly:
Code:

<embed
  src="Fishy.swf"
  width="550"
  height="400"
  allowscriptaccess="always"
  allowfullscreen="true"
/>

(see Tower Defense for instructions)

All games mentioned have been tested running the respective .swf file from the N900's storage. I experienced flash games to have a worse performance when playing them embed into some web page.
Also, putting your flash player's quality to "low" slightly increases the game's performance. To do so, click and hold somewhere on the screen and wait for the pop-up to appear. Select Quality -> Low Quality

Feel free to contribute games/experiences so I can add them to the list.
I myself will also add games when I find some more.

Nice Idea.
Lets try and keep the thread clear of posts without games in them.

Dicewars

Dice Wars is a great strategy Dice game. You get more die by owning connected pieces of land, which in turn will help you to take over more land. You can play against up to 8 computer players.
It's very addictive, and runs great on the N900, albeit a tad slower than on a modern pc. The game is on a nice clean page, which also helps

Kitten Cannon

Result: working

I was surprised to see this game running relatively smooth.

this sort of thing should really be in a wiki, as it allows more collaborative editing and easier to update.

that said, here is my contribution:

Loops of Zen

note, just dowloading the swf doesn't appear to work and requires support files in same folder in order to launch.

works well enough to play, better when quality is set to 'low'

Somewhere in this big mess of threads is an old one we started for this purpose... if its corpse is ever rediscovered, maybe it can be revived and merged with this one. :D

This is the one I know about. However, the list could have been better filtered. Not all the games listed are ideal for tablets, either b/c of performance issues or interface (e.g., requires mouse hovering, requires rapid or specialized keyboard usage).

This is a bit oldish thread, but still worth to try. Has anyone managed to get facebook yacht to work? Or ninjakiwi's tower defence 4? I'm wondering is it my device that doesnt work well or is it a common bug... i mean feature?
