HUGE Nokia Messaging problems!

Okay, this is a problem -

Today, around midnight, Nokia Messaging on my N900 went crazy. I couldn't view my inbox, and i kept getting message notifications for messages I have already received.

Then, out of nowhere, POOF, my nokia messaging email account disappeared from my phone! I reinstalled it, and began having the same issues as before...about an hour later, the nokia messaging account disappeared again.

Now, Nokia Messaging is NO LONGER AN OPTION on my N900! When I go to create the account again, Nokia Messaging is removed from the "Service Provider" drop down menu.

Anyone else experience this??? By the way, my phone is constantly rebooting, and the internet is dreadfully slow, so this Nokia Messaging problem isnt the only thing wrong with the device.

Had exactly the same last week and still not solved the problem, problem is with N900 as my N97.E90 etc still works ok. In beginning when this service started I had the same with my E90 and when I logged in to nokia messging website I cancelled my account and rebuilded everything and it fixed the problem.

Yes, this worked with my other Nokia phones...I don't understand. It is going to be really hard to stick with this phone past my return date...I can't trust that the basics will be up and running with the firmware update.

how do I get nokia messaging back on my n900??? it completely disappeared from my options list!

I haven't had those problems at all with the NM. But if I was I would just reflash my N900, its not pretty but will be able to see NM as a service provider again

Thank you...I will look into how to do that.

I'm guess the instructions for reflashing are in the forums?

Re: HUGE Nokia Messaging problems!

I did it a day after I got the phone via Nokia Software Updater... http://europe.nokia.com/get-support-...oftware-update

Re: HUGE Nokia Messaging problems!

nokia messaging doesnt show up as an option on my phone as a "service provider". this is a huge problem, considering this is my only push option.

this was working just fine, then poof, it deleted my nokia messaging account and i have no way to add it again.

I am having the same issue now.

Battery ran out then phone switched off> Plugged in the charger> Removed the battery to turn the device on again> Connected to wi-fi.
"Poof" Nokia Messaging gone from list of service providers.
On t-mobile USA

Any ideas please?

https://bugs.maemo.org/show_bug.cgi?id=7286

I ddi not reflash my device but it appears even that does not work.

*bump*
I used Nokia Software updater to reinstall the firmware but still no Nokia Messaging available under providers.
Is using the software updater the same as reflashing?

Re: HUGE Nokia Messaging problems!

i'm having the same problem-- no nokia messaging option in the list. i thought it was just because i had the region set to USA, but i tried other regions and no joy.

i had to trick the nokia messaging website by telling it that i had an n95 when i signed up, because it wouldn't let me sign up for an account when i said i had an n900. so i don't know if that has anything to do with it.

this is definitely a major problem for anyone who wants to use this thing like they would their blackberries....

Re: HUGE Nokia Messaging problems!

Maybe we can get the settings and add it under "Other"

Re: HUGE Nokia Messaging problems!

Please check that your rootfs is not full. Nokia Messaging is not available as an account type if it is.

I'm on a fresh flash and install...how would that be? How to check?

Sorry, I actually meant to say "home directory" instead of rootfs.

Open terminal and enter command "df -H". Check the use percentage on line with "/dev/mmcblk0p2" and "/home".

Another thing you could try is removing the directory with intellisync (protocol used by Nokia Messaging) data; in terminal enter

"rm -Rf /home/user/.intellisyncd".

Then reboot the phone and try again.

had to run df- hfk to get that to pull up showing 7% in mmcblk0p2...didn't show home

ran removal line...didn't show any activity but i restarted and still no dice but thx tho

Without debugging this further, you may want to wait for PR 1.2 (coming soon) to check if the problem goes away.
