Zagg sparq at 50$ is quite a bargain. Now if they start shipping to Europe...

Mine doesn't work for the N900, giving all the signs of a USB device wanting more power than the power source was willing to give. (Plug in, orange light blinks for a while, ghost Nokia logo shows on screen, and then a few seconds later a sound that means charger disconnected.) This story was the same with the N900 running, and turned off. The DC-11 was fully charged, and I tried multiple times with cables laid various ways to guard against any physical movement.

This DC-11 has successfully charged my E71, my N810, my wife's N95, and had juice fo keep the N810 running MaemoMapper and GPS for quite a long time as I went for a long bike ride. Not all one one charge, obviously...

I'd say the DC-11 is not compatible with the N900, despite the theoretical match.

What have we to do for the N900?

Shorten the Data Pins or a Resistor between?
Put them to +5V or to Ground?

Anybody knows?

Thanks for the heads-up! I ordered one along with an invisible shield. Even if it turns out that it won't work with the N900 natively (we have conflicting reports here in this thread), I've got the nokia adapters on the way that should bridge the gap, so I'm good either way.

Cheers!

Which "nokia adapters" did you order? I would like to order one just in case also.

Cheers back at ya'

-The key to fixing all of this is starting the charge and than connecting the N900.
For example press the charge button on the Nokia DC-11 and than connect it to the N900. Works on mine.

-I also noticed that the N900 won't charge with some chargers when the battery is completely empty...so dont let it completely drain.

No joy with my Socket Mobile Power Pack. +5V DC@1.8A, 7200 mAh.

----- New information ----

Joy! Using the slowly inserting the USB cable trick, I am now able to charge my N900 using my Socket Mobile Power Pack. The trick is to connect the cable to the battery first, then slowly plug the micro USB plug into the N900.

Didn't make a difference. I still can't charge with the DC-11.

I understand what you're saying, but that's exactly when I want to charge. If I have to charge earlier, say at 50% used, then I have to carry the recharging unit at all times. I can't just leave it back at the hotel room, ready to pick up just before I head out for the evening.

Damn, was hoping it was a glitch. Battery doesn't last me a full day with current usage. I guess its back to carrying another device along with my phone. Sigh

How about a spare BL-5J - works quite well for me! :)

Hm... I can't reproduce this. I only charged my phone while it was running.

Can't confirm yet but I'll keep my eyes open.
