OpenSSH default username & password?
It did not ask me to change password after installation.
No idea what the default username + password is! I cannot SSH in at the moment.. |
Re: OpenSSH default username & password?
There is no password for user. You have to first get root access (install rootsh in extras), type into the terminal "sudo gainroot" to get root access, then "passwd user" and it'll ask you to set the password.
And then you can ssh in with user, and your selected password. |
Re: OpenSSH default username & password?
default username: root
for set new password: 1. go to X-term 2. type: root (you should install "rootsh" before) 3. type: passwd And you will setup new one |
Re: OpenSSH default username & password?
Cheers!
Changed both User & Root Where would User be used? |
Re: OpenSSH default username & password?
You should disable root access, it's a huge security risk if people were to break in your system with root. If you ever need root access you can always ssh in as user and then use something like sudo gainroot to gain root access.
