A couple of days haze worked.....and at this moment i'm getting errors all the time . I'm connected to the WIFI at my home server messenger.hotmail.com port 1863 http method NO All the time i';m getting could not connect more people with this error? |

Re: account-plugin-haze
im not sure why they would get rid of it, unless there was legal troubles. i use it, and it seems to work fine.

Re: account-plugin-haze
i did a reinstall and it's working fine now.......
they should have build in MSN support from the beginning! |
Re: account-plugin-haze
I have an interesting issue with haze.
When I connect with it, it will download users avatar images and put them to contact image. When I disconnect they remain there. But when I connect again to msn through haze all the avatar images are deleted and then slowly re-downloaded. How can I tell it only to download avatars of peaple who do not have them in my contact details? And not to delete them from conatcts when contact already has avatar image? Otherwise it just works fine :) |
Re: account-plugin-haze
nux, I have the same issue with avatar images dissapearing. I wish there was a feature to just disable downloading of avatar images from msn altogether. I already have avatar images synced from my gmaill contacts.
Also being online on MSN all the time seems to drain the battery faster (makes sense since the 3G have to be online more or less all the time) |
Re: account-plugin-haze
try port 8080 and http method on, works for me!

Re: account-plugin-haze
Haze has always been a little bit broken for me.
It will work fine on my home WiFi with a good signal, but if the signal gets patchy it will struggle as it switches between Wifi and GSM. Once I start actually roaming AIM will fail guaranteed. Generally, Yahoo and MSN are more resilient (which is nuts as on PC AIM has always been the most stable as it was designed in dial-up days) but often they too will eventually disconnect and "network error". To prove its Haze at fault I setup a Skype account as well. Skype NEVER has problems reconnecting, I have never once looked at my N900 and Skype been disconnected, its rock solid. So something about Haze just is not working as well. I was tempted to switch to Butterfly for MSN to see if its any different but I do not want to have to merge all my contacts again. |
Re: account-plugin-haze
Same as Alex Atkin here, with ICQ for me.
I wonder if there is somewhere to file a bug about it. |
Re: account-plugin-haze
I think Haze is a bit unstable, last night it was taking all the CPU, so had to kill it. But when it works its sweet

Re: account-plugin-haze
anybody know where this has gone? Telepathy has vanished off of the applications list.

I liked it better when account-plugin-haze could be installed seperately (seems to me that doesn't really work any longer)... I tried installing account-plugin-haze (apt-get install account-plugin-haze) but that pulls in the Pidgin meta package instead... |
Re: account-plugin-haze
Same problem here.
I uninstalled "account-plugin-haze", but I can not uninstall "Pidgin protocols plugins for Conversations and Contacts". |
Re: account-plugin-haze
Can we still install account-plugin-butterfly? and if so what repository is it in?
|
Re: account-plugin-haze
after i uninstalled all the haze and telepathy stuff
und installed the "account-plugin-butterfly" package (account-plugin-butterfly python-openssl python-papyon python-telepathy telepathy-butterfly) now i can see my MSN account in the Accounts list and is schown as "Enabled" a bit strange it is because when i edit this account the username and password fields are empty and the "My availability" list tells me that im Online. And i can see both, my icq and msn availability with the green dot... EDIT: i think its solved now i could still not login into my msn account with butterfly, and the empty entry in my accounts list was saying if i want to delete "nil" when i press to delete it. and i couldnt create a new login so i removed account-plugin-butterfly with apt-get Quote:
then i reinstalled the butterfly package account-plugin-butterfly now my availability list is empty as it should be and i was able to create a new account for msn und connect to it |
Re: account-plugin-haze
I'm having a strange bug - ICQ/AIM can't login (I'm stuck with "Not signed in" message in account settings. In the meantime pidgin works fine. And of course, I did not misspel my password/account name,
Can anyone tell me how to completely remove an account? Cause after purging haze ICQ settings are still saved. |
Re: account-plugin-haze
I'm experiencing the same behaviour... (no ICQ login possible, stuck at "not signed in")
As much as i know you can remove it from ~/.rtcom-accounts/accounts.cfg , remove it via the UI first (maybe reboot) and check the file. |
Re: account-plugin-haze
Somehow solved it. Here is the solution:
1)Disable devel and testing 2)Remove haze and other stuff. I purged libpurple* and purple-extra-protocols with their friends 3)reboot 4)Install account plugin 0.7 using app. manager from maemo-extras |
Re: account-plugin-haze
The butterfly plugin can crash the whole contact list when it is enabled.
What do you mean with "I purged libpurple* and purple-extra-protocols with their friends" Lunatik? |
Re: account-plugin-haze
Code:
$ apt-get remove --purge libpurple* purple-extra-protocols |
