Sure. But given the large number taking time to vote no, a great deal of that is mitigated.

EDIT: I have no doubt it's lower than 11%. My concern is mainly potential, given the failure mode.

as i refresh this page, the votes are adding up buy 3-4 count, and i expect it on the "My USB port has broken without any unusual treatment" votes. but no, i sent an e-mail to one of agents that handles nokia accounts here in my location about this, i hope that i get a quick and absolute response

It's good to see more No votes for at least 2 reasons: it normalizes the overall results, and *may* indicate that the original root cause was indeed addressed at some point in production.

That of course still leaves the outstanding issue of warranty claims...

We all know that a bunch of malcontents are just ripping out their micro-USB ports just to raise some hell. I mean, use some common sense here, folks!!!

men!!! someone welcome me to the club of paranoids!!!

and wait, based on what am i reading, most of the faulty n900 usb ports are bought from European nokia stores (no offense), but im not 100% sure, just based on what i read.

im always careful in handling my devices, specially in charging and date transfers, now this makes me more careful!!! and seriously, more careful!!

It may also be a good idea to push the clips on the charger plug a little bit so that the plug doesn't sit too tight.

isnt transfer through wifi going to be much slower than usb? i dont want any compromise in file transfer speed, nokia should just come up with a better solution if this really is a problem.

i agree, i dont whant attaching and removing memory cards or what else to transfer files, i have used two devices with similar micro usb ports, they dont have issues with, why did they not make the same on n900? dont say they ran out of options because of a high processor and improved performance? and what goes for the micro usb ports are just leftovers???

If you are paranoid about this then do what people have already done in this thread:
