just fitted the ZAGG full protection. Is quite rubbery and the stylus does indeed drag. Grip is good across the back and sides of the phone tho. Might stick with the screen protector for a week or so and see if the drag goes away a bit. If not will pull it off and use one of the ebay type screen protectors - harder film but less drag.

Re: Best Screen protector for N900 ( again)

Hi all, just registered. I've been reading through the thread looking for a screen protector to order with my N900. One thing I haven't seen mentioned is the JAVOscreen protector. I have one on my Treo 650 and I'm very pleased with it. It has a good texture (not quite as smooth as the screen itself, but definitely not rubbery at all) and it's totally washable and reusable. It sticks on by suction - if it gets dirty you can wash it with liquid soap and it just goes right back on (I've only had to wash it once or twice in all the years I've had it - more to do with dust building up on the edges of the recessed screen on the 650).

So naturally I wanted one of these for the N900, but so far they don't make one for the N900, but it should be possible to cut an N800 protector to fit the N900:

This screen cover is really great and I can't recommend it enough.

Next, I was looking for a hard case. I found this one on Amazon (rather pricey for a hard case though: )

http://www.amazon.com/Amzer-Clear-Cr...1580121&sr=8-2

The problem I see here is that it doesn't have the cutouts for the camera, proximity sensor, etc. (either that or it's on upside-down in the pic).

Are there any hard cases that have these cutouts?

I will most likely order the clear protector ~ 15USD which my very clumsy friend installed perfect (soapy method).

I like my DQC-160. It's a near perfect fit that just clings to the n900 screen & if it weren't for the cutouts you wouldn't know there was a screen protector there. The only bad thing I could say about it is if you examine very closely the curved corners aren't cut as smooth as more flexible protectors, but with the close fit it really isn't noticeable.

I got this to replace Phantomskinz that was a pain to apply because of the adhesive & need to wet & soap the thing. It does change the feel & gave it an orange peel texture like all these protectors made from a similar material.

The DQC-160 is like a sheet of hard plastic whereas the Phantomskinz is like a sheet of vinyl. I much prefer the former because of it's ease of application & it maintains the original look & feel of the device.

I got a screen protector from DuraSec and have been very pleased by it. It is not cheap at 30.00

Nokia N900 - DuraSec HighTec screen protector (4250202956438) = US$30.70

Today I got the Clarivue protector that I ordered. Just wanted to report and say that I am extremely pleased with it. Very nice.

I installed my Phantom Skinz protector on the 24th and have been using the phone heavily since then. :)

The surface is smooth - almost identical feel as the naked screen. Mine is optically perfect. If I hadn't trapped a single, tiny cat hair under the protector, you wouldn't even know it was there.

My only complaint is that the protector is a bit too small. There is a 1mm margin between the edge of the protector and the edge of the screen.

Overall, I'd highly recommend their product. Less than US$10 for two protectors.

I bought the ARMR200 and also the DQC-160. As soon as I get my n900 i'll give some feedback about it...

I'm still using one of the 10-year-old protectors i bought for my Visor Deluxe, and it's not very good. It's a bit too short to completely cover the screen, and a bit too wide. And soft. I'd really like to figure out a better solution soon because i'll be back to the normal schedule and carrying my phone in the front pocket of my jeans as often as not.

One thing i've noticed is that the little hole for the mic(?) on the front left is collecting debris. I'm thinking a protector that covers the entire front of the device inside the bezel with no holes in it at all would be best for mine. Do any of them work like that?

Bump. I've ordered a cheap rubberized case off Ebay and a cheap Blackberry holster said to work with the N900 but still don't have a good screen protector. In looking through the ones on Ebay, they all seem to have a cut-out for the speaker (even if they don't for other important things), which i would rather not have. Has anyone found a screen protector that covers that cruft-collecting speaker hole?
