Re: Best Screen protector for N900 ( again)
I also bought an Vikuiti ARMR200 and i'm satisfied with it. Thanks to it, it's easier to read in direct sunlight and the sensibility of the screen is the same as before.

Re: Best Screen protector for N900 ( again)
Given how a speaker works (by moving a membrane to create sound waves), covering the hole would cause a definite loss in sound quality (if not block it out altogether).

Re: Best Screen protector for N900 ( again)
Yeah, i know that's a possibility. I'd be willing to lose a little volume from that speaker because i plan to use a headset most of the time. Anyway, worth asking about in case someone has actually tried it and found it worked ok, right?

I very much doubt anyone would make one like that though. You could just sellotape over the speaker hole, or get a larger screen protector and cut it down to the correct size.

Re: Best Screen protector for N900 ( again)
well i had the invisible shield but couldnt get on with it. didnt like the texture (is like orange peel) and felt quite rubbery so i took it off.
a word of warning with this tho, when i took mine off it was so well fixed it gave me a big fight. bowed the touch screen surface outwards as it was peeling off and as a result i now have a small bright spot near the top of my display and the touchscreen sometimes makes a faint clicking/crunching noise. it does still work perfectly so at least theres that i guess.. by the way i tried puncturing the back part of the protecter since i didnt want to use it and well, that material is stupidly strong!! |
Re: Best Screen protector for N900 ( again)
I just installed the InvisibleShield too. It is slightly rubbery, but doesn't diminish the use of the screen too much, imo. The comment about it being like an 'orange peel' is drastically overexagerated, although the texture appears similar when viewed from an angle. I bought the full body. The phone is now less likely to slip through my fingers onto the floor. I am overall happy with the purchase.
When you install it, remember to use enough water. That is how you get the air bubbles out. Mine is air bubble free. If you do decide to remove it, remember to peel it at 180 degrees, not 90. ;) That way you aren't yanking the screen outward. |

I guess I can give an extended suggestion for peeling off at 180 degrees: Use the Zagg card (or something similar) to hold the screen while the shield is being peeled away. This should help normalize the force while pulling the shield. |
