He needs people to try files that played slowly before to try again with his new version.

I sent an e-mail to the maintainer and he said the patch will be in the next release. In the meantime, there is a .deb available (with NEON optimizations) at http://s3.jspenguin.org/mplayer_1.0s...uin1_armel.deb

Is 1.0svn20091221-1 that I just got updated from the repo the same version as this?

If so it would have been nice if the first line returned when running mplayer also mentioned any patches such as NEON optimisations so you can easily tell.

I do not think so, unless the same version number was used to add the patch. I updated to 1221-1 hours before the patch discussion took place. Unless there was a lag in that discussion in relation to a patch.

I now see 1.0svn20091221-2 in extras devel.

Is this the NEON patched version? or older? Newer? :confused:

It is new in regards to being a new file, since 1221-1 was the previous file. Not used 1221-2 enough yet to tell a there is a difference. I have been juggling between three N900's in the past two weeks.

I can't say that I have been juggling between 3 N900's :eek: but I haven't really noticed anything different from 1221-1 and 1221-2. I did notice that 1221-2 is a 9.46Mb file possibly better optimization than 1221-1? I don't recall what the file size was on 1221-1.

I now see 1.0svn20091221-3 available in the application manager.
Where can I actually see the changelog?

Let me do a fast FIND and see if I can locate it. I imagine there has to be a changelog. I am at work however so give me a few minutes and let me see what I can dig up (unless someone beats me to it obviously)
