Wow it worked great now. I think you have fixed the bug in this one. All you need now is to Optified the package :D

FYI, the signal is much stronger now than before. It stand 5Metres away from the TV and yes it still work. Great job bud. You deserve a Thank.

yes that is what i am talking about... but i am limited to 3 selections + one special section. i can not override or delete any of these in the pannable list. even though in the download from lirc it said that the one i now need is installed, i can not see it

maxximuscool: how did you fix it? Reflashed device and it worked for a little and now it doesn't :O.

Yah. Another way to make it crash: download a remote (I tried with the one from Nikon), and save it with the default layout. Segfault.

X-terminal output:

It does save a device file under ~/MyDocs/qtirreco/Devices , but when I go to Select a Remote, it doesn't show any remotes.

Please help. I just installed this but can't get this to work. I have downloaded two remotes from the download from data base option (LG TV and Western Digital Media Player) but all I get when I select a remote is a dark grey background with QtIrreco written at the bottom but with no buttons. What am I missing?

I will try to get all those bugs fixed tomorrow. I'm almost done with them. Remotes in database are mostly unusable because of a small bug and I will have to clear whole database tomorrow too.

I installed this for the first time today, and after hitting my head against the wall for 2 hours to get it working, I finally figured it out:
The file in MyDocs/qtirreco/Devices needs to have the same name as the name line inside it. My file was named RM-ED011 and the remote config had the name Sony_RM-ED011, as soon as I changed the file name to Sony_RM-ED011 everything worked (nearly) perfectly.

That particular remote, Sony's RM-ED011, also wasn't in the listing of all Sony remotes although it is at http://lirc.sourceforge.net/remotes/sony/ , any idea why?

Now I have a special problem.. I`ve a DELL 32" TV @ home but in the database there isn`t a datapackage for DELL .. know somebody which package I should take for DELL ?! :rolleyes:

I set the remote name the same as the file name, but qtirreco still crashed for me.

After installing 0.2.2 from testing repo I always get
Socket connection with lirc failed! Please try reopening software.

I tryed reopening many times but nothing changed also rebootet and starting from root shell doesn't work.

Some idea what can cause this, I even tryed apt-get remove qtirreco lirc and removed all config files and reinstalled.
