I confirm. It does not work on PR1.2.
The led does not even flash.
I reinstalled many times (I tried Extra, Testing, Devel), but it did not work :(.

is there any other programm that works? or maybe since it works after reboot or after reinstall . we should delete some files with any store and try it again.

Are the developers trying to troubleshoot this? Its obvious that there is a problem with this app.

mine works perfectly with PR1.2, it has made my day many times if I have lost the remote or gf has it in posession ;)

I think most of the developers have graduated (I think it was a project for school). Or they're working on Irreco Widget now. So the answer (as far as I know) is no.

Shame as this was good fun, well the only working remote for me was the sky+ remote, but now its completely useless as nothing at all works

I flashed PR 1.2, then installed qtirreco. It worked from the first time.

Hi, i've been using my phone as a remote for a while, everything worked fine until yesterday i do not know what happened its just not reponding anymore...please help! anyone!?!? :(

Is there a request forum topic for remote controls?

I have the 42SL9000 from LG with the MKJ61541804 remote control.
Unfortunately this remote doesn't exist in the databank. Can i ask for support somewhere?

Ps: I don't have the knowledge and hardware to record my remote myself.

i love how the irreco people are totally unreachable. i have requested from every maemo board i can come up with regarding both my sanyo 42 in tv and my comcast dta, yet to no avail. this seems to be a waste of time. and yes, i have tried to record the remote myself, i have tried ALL of the downloadable remotes. someone from irreco, START READING THIS THREAD!

I have to devices (Caira LCD TV and Sat receiver Strong) and I'm searching how to get the ir code.

I cannot find them on net....is there any other way to get it ?

This is to anyone who has had qtirreco working before upgrading firmware.

If you found that once updating to the latest nokia firmware qtirreco stopped working I appear to have found a solution.

1. Uninstall QTIRRECO from within the application manager.
2. Goto file manager (within the n900) and delete the QTIRRECO folder (that is in the mass memory).
3. Go and reinstall QTIRRECO from within the application manager.
4. Download the chosen remote/s you wish to use.

Thats it. They should now work again. Mine did anyway.
If you have experianced problems getting your remote to ever work this probably wont work but if they stopped working after a firmware upgrade then you may be in luck.

Also anyone trying to find a remote for thier sky+ or sky+ HD remote i also read that the sky+_DVB-5 works for these remotes.

I dont take credit for figuring this out as i didnt i read it off another user but now im trying to find the post to show it you i cant find it. hope this helps.

i found uninstalling and deleting the qtirreco folder allowed my remotes to work again, for those whose remotes don't work could also try deleting all the remotes from the FOLDER and re-configuring them

First thing first : Where do I find the Model Number ?
I am in India , there are no model numbers mentioned on remotes , should I try finding it on the device(TV , AC) rather than looking on the their remotes.

The database doesnt seems to have Hitachi AC on the list , are there possiblities of database being updated or extended ?

is it possible to hold the remote against the ir port on n900 press the button u want on remote and the n900 records the signal and then u can assign it to a button like u can with universal remotes

this program was put forth early-on with no support or how-to endorsed by the programs creators, as well as no one knowing how to properly create a remote from scratch.

this particular irreco program is the equivalent of buying a jet fighter for a 10 year old and saying "have fun!" ..it is far too complex not to come with a training video or a manual on their website

i have other tv's (panasonic and phillips), and irreco works like a charm with them. i'm not incompetent with these things. however, none of thier sanyo remotes work on any sanyo television, as proved on multiple boards by other individuals like myself with this brand of tv

You would be surprised at how many different incompatible remote codes a single manufacturer can use, which is why apps like this can be an absolute nightmare. Equally Universal remotes which you can buy on any street corner never seem to work fully.

The core of qtirreco is LIRC, which is an application for remote control, and if you have a compatible receiver, you can use programs to learn your particular remotes.

Qtirreco is nothing more than a pretty frontend for LIRC. If you want know more about it, then go and have a look at the website (tip: google lirc) Masses of technical info, oh, and read the first post on this thread.

BTW, there is a remote for my cable box ready, but not my TV - time for me to create one and upload the config when I get chance.

I got LIRC up and running on my Mac Book Pro for the sole purpose of recording some remote signals. Got LIRC up and running but about half the buttons I was recording don't automatically repeat which means LIRC cannot record them. Has anyone else had this problem and is there a workaround you are aware of?

If the right include-line is missing in /etc/lircd.conf, then qtirreco wont work.

Its hard to find that information in a 40-pages-thread.

BTW, to find out, if ir-led is transmitting something at all:
Watch it with a digicam. In its lcd-display you can see the led glowing while transmitting.

This application is one of the coolest N900 apps. A big thank you to the development team for their dedication to the project. And thank you to everyone making the project richer by uploading their remote signals. Both my Toshiba TV and LG DVD player ran with existing codes. I will definately record the signals from the remotes of any new devices that I buy if they weren't already there. This is a truly community driven effort that will make us all have one more thing to brag about :)

Lirc command database (^that there) isn't that comprehensive (+2000 devices), so good luck with it. Some models made by the same manufacturer work with similar devices, so maybe give it a try. Additionally you can try recording your remote with IR equipped computer or with external IR receiver.

hi all, i readed thread from the begining, but i stil cant fix my qterreco for n900,
i have maemo 5 version 10,2010,19-1

the problem is that IR doesnt transmit anything, can i get a litle help about this, it is realy cool app and i would like to set up it.

You need remote control CT-90233, accordingly to the user manual for 62HM95 TV of Toshiba. However, it isn't in the database:
