Hello all...My 2nd device is an unbootable state hanging at the dot pattern even after lots of reflash..but on enabling rd-mode I get prompted with a security code.I've tried the default but it does not work..Am believing you guys could suggest a solution to this since I cant get access to xterm..Thanks in anticipation.

I'm asking, as it's exactly what I had to do, for being able to help you. For me, it was exercise to refresh my memory about this procedure, but you were perfectly able to do it all on your own, even with 0 linux/maemo experience.

hey all I cannot use the a.out file on windows it is for linux (researched) so i don't understand how i can undo my nephew's fidgeting finger on the n900 :mad: :mad: :mad: :mad: help!

I understand your sentiments Estel, however, I am always telling people to understand what they are typing and not just follow blindly as some tutorials are badly written or some idiot puts in very dangerous commands.

That said, if a post tutorial has been around for a while and have positive comments in them, people can follow it blindly first and try to understand what they were typing to get the results they wanted.

Maemo5 is after all a hacker phone with nothing before it (or after it) coming close to it's hacking, modding, DRM-free platform. :cool:
