how could anyone recommend an n900 over an iphone or android to the normal user is beyond me..

its not pick up and play..

As much as I love my N900...I have to agree with this. It definitely doesn't pass the "Mom" test. Hell, my wife is fairly technical (or at least becoming so since we got married LOL) and I wouldn't recommend the N900 to *her* at this point. Maybe in 6 months when all the little glitches get ironed out it would be appropriate, but for now her 5800 is plenty fancy enough :D

It took exactly 37 pathetic seconds for the N900 to render page 7 of this thread fully. This does not include downloading the page via wifi that took 8 seconds.

I challenge people to post their results for page 7. Scroll down to the very bottom and wait until it gets rendered. What are your numbers?

So one guys accuses me of dampening people's enthusiasm towards the N900. Two other guys mock me for recommending the N900 to poor souls.

Please make up your collective anti-troll mind.

actuelly... i'm completly new at linux and maemo.. and nothings perfect enough for me.. the n900 is just the closest thing to a desktop computer experience amongst handheld devices.

orange its about stating facts- then people can make up there own minds..

no phone is perfect , yet many of the phones we discuss are great, they all have pluses and minuses.

its about being objective. you seem to fight yourself more than anything else
