Travelling to the US, FL. Help me buy a prepaid GSM/3G card plz
When my brother was in CA more than a year ago, he tried to buy a prepaid cellphone card but told me it wasn't possible unless you buy a phone with it.
Either he didn't try real enough or it might be true. Can i get a prepaid card only over there? And which should i get for the Miami area? Thanks Eikido |

I am *pretty sure* you can still get prepaid SIM cards. Just go to an AT&T or TMobile store and ask for prepaid SIM card. We have a lot of prepaid phone services here that do require a phone locked to a service and you simply buy a "refill" card to add minutes to that phone. That is NOT what you want. That is what most big box stores sell.
Just go to AT&T or TMobile store and ask for a prepaid SIM you should be all set. |

It's really really cold here at the moment! -10 celsius. So i'm looking forward to getting some better weather! :) Eikido |

One question: will those pre-paid SIM cards provide data access? :)

How long are you staying? It might be cheaper to just get a month-to-month plan - I'm currently paying $40/mo for mine for 500 minutes and unlimited data.
