Then software updates 002 are the ones you should be connecting to.

Can you try creating a new catalogue entry with the details provided? and just disable the non-functioning one?

I'll try and report back here in a few mins.

Re: Finally got the repositories set up.

Just noticed that the web address on my nokia application catalogue is as follows:

https://downloads.maemo.nokia.com/fremantle/apps/

Distribution: ./

Components: "blank"

is that the right web address for my device etc?

That address appears to be standard across all versions of the firmware. It's the software update one which is variable according to which version of the firmware you have.

ok well then the software updater catalogue has the following web address:

https://downloads.maemo.nokia.com/fremantle/002

??

Thanks for the help so far by the way mate.

Re: Finally got the repositories set up.

If your firmware is version 002, then that's correct too.

Why don't disable that one, then go to catalogues and add a new one with all those details. Then see what happens.

Still no joy! disabled the current Nokia software update catalogue and created a new one with all the correct details and refreshed, but still get the same problem of the nokia app and nokia software updates failed to refresh :(

Anyone think that this problem could be fixed simply enough by restoring factory settings? Not sure what else can be done, tbh.

Re: Finally got the repositories set up.

I was thinking of doing the same...but whats the best way to restore factory settings? Havn't a clue about flashing etc....sounds very complicated and risky for someone with no experience in this sort of thing.

Seems as if I saw a thread somewhere offering a step-by-step on how to flash it. If I can find it again, I'll post the link here.

I've sent out an SOS on the Nokia Discussions board as well. Will let you know if I get any takers. (No praying emoticon available. ;))
