ok, another hopefully simple one - using the built in audio player, how do you make playlists?

How do you prevent popups in this thing? its so fricken annoying! Is there something in the control panel options?

And also, how do i get rid of that "Discover Tableteer" on the desktop? I rather use that space for another widget, clock.

It is an option in the settings of Opera (the browser) to turn off popups

That's Correct.

In the Web browser click: Web > Tools > Settings

Where it says "Enable pop-up windows" choose your prefered option.

Er.. no. Unless I'm misunderstanding what you're saying.
4-bit SD interfaces can read (1-bit) MMC cards. My strong guess is that the N800 has a 4-bit SD/MMC interface.

Yes, you are likely correct. I should receive my 4GB SD cards soon to test and can make some quick read/write speed test to verify this... there should be 4X difference when compared to the 1GB MMC card I'm using at the moment (borrowed from old 770).

Another answer I found to my earlier question about restoring backup made with 770 to N800: Yes, it does work. :)
