Re: MyMenu
I guess I'll have to try installing it again later..
Anyway, what's an easy way to restore the original if this goes ary again? And I have this missing libpoppler2 problem that's preventing me from installing the decoders and xournal apps now.. So if anyone could help me with that, it would be appreciated. Edit: Nevermind got it with a apt-get install |
Re: MyMenu
There is a problem with updating the damm thing...it froze man...what the hell!! The previous version is more stable ...plus i think the icons set is better looking in the previous version.
You're making this worst...SORRY! It froze up when i try to update..and i have to restart |
Re: MyMenu
I like the new version icons - installed from the deb not qoles repo. Didnt uninstall first, wasnt aware there was an issue when I installed.

Re: MyMenu
Put me down for infinite reboot loop too - installed from repo and now it looks like I might need to reflash my firmware too
[edit] managed to hand up the boot process by clicking everywhere on the screen while the desktop was flashing - this allowed me to ssh into the device and issue apt-get remove mymenu it gave a while bunch of errors but the reboot is stopped. Now i boot into the desktop but clicking everywhere no longer works. ONly thing I can click on is the status bar everything else is ignored. Is there a way yo launch the backup utility from the ssh command prompt before I reflash? |
Re: MyMenu
Brand new install from Qole's repo, hildon-desktop is segfaulting its *** off and after 10 or something crashes, device reboots and cycle goes on and on.
Do not install 0.4.3 unless you have fresh backup and are prepared to reflash! |
Re: MyMenu
@all pls don't install it again - i removed it from my server - that's too buggy I am sorry for this!
I hope, I can remove the bug! |
Re: MyMenu
is there any way to fix it without reflashing the whole rootfs? maybe a small image that just prevents mymenu from starting?
|
Re: MyMenu
working fine for me.. updated over repo.loving new icons
|
Re: MyMenu
This is why everyone needs a to install bootmenu and have an alternative rootfs on internal mmc or a microSD card. Then when such thing happens you can boot to the second partition, mount the ubifs root, and restore it to a good state.
If someone has such a setup and can upload a copy of hildon.menu and all .dekstop/.directory files that cause such a reboot loop, maybe we can analyze it and find out what the problem is. |
Re: MyMenu
Actually there is nothing wrong except when you use the "update-menu" under settings...that's when it froze up. Until you fix this, i won't be pressing that button at all.
