Hy everybody,

it takes a long time for the new version of MyMenu but now it's ready
you can download it under

http://maemo.3ion.at/mymenu-0.4.4_armel.deb

Here is the changelog of the last 2 versionsteps:

- 0.4.4
* Check for Error after Install or Update
** if there is an error, MyMenu change back to the original menu structure
* Install log under /home/user/MyDocs/mymenu.log
* Include Menu structure of PR 1.1
- 0.4.3
* Folder will just list if there is an application for it
* Translation for following languages: en_GB, en_US, es_MX, nl_NL, pt_BR, no_NO, fi_FI, it_IT, fr_CA, da_DK, pt_PT, sv_SE, fr_FR, es_ES,ru_RU, de_DE
* change of the *.directory files to /usr/share/applications/hildon/directory
* no multiple invocations of update-menu
* new icon-set
* change Section: x11 to Section: user/desktop

few things some games are under other airport, coin toss, discs, fifteen, solitare,
also speedy for speed test, and wightjinni are under other can you move some of them to games and newtorking i think wightjinni can stay under other

If not I think I can do it trough the Terminal....Where should I save the package on the device?

i wrote qole this moment a pn - when you can wait it will maybe tomorrow on qole's rep

for Terminal install follow this:


1) you need rootsh -> pls install

2) dowload follow deb: http://maemo.3ion.at/mymenu-0.4.4_armel.deb
3) start xterm
4) sudo gainroot
5) change to the directory where you download it (with cd /home/user/.....)
6) install with this command:
dpkg -i mymenu-0.4.4_armel.deb


for uninstall insert this command:
dpkg -r mymenu

I saved the package in /home/user/MyDocs but in the terminal I was in /home/user

MyMenu is in my repo (there already for several hours, before manzn sent me a message) but I noticed that when all the maemo repositories are dead, my repo won't refresh either... A bug in the Application Manager...

Thanks for your app and it installed without a glitch:) My only question is and forgive me for being a noob but how do I get the apps from the Ovi store to go in the correct categories? So Angry Birds is under games etc etc.

Press the update menu button in system. This now updates and has put all apps in right place including Angry birds ect from ovi store.

Hy erverybody,

Apps Update is online (i hope, i have all offscr apps in it)

I hope that the extra repo is soon aviable, then i upload this version up to the repo :-D

After doing the "update-menu", it through up a recorder window what I could not get rid off, the mobile itself on the background was working, could click on the Status bar, after restart was fine and the update went without errors.

In order to update the App should i remove the old one before or just do dpkg -i and will overwrite all the files?

can we replace the icons with the ones from the program manager?
i like those more, but i don't like catorise so much...
and i think that defining in which category the programs will go, will be only possible with mymenu.

Hmm, I didn't get this installed. 0.4.4 version didn't go thru.

Edit: removed it via app-manager and tried again with xterm dpkg and it went fine. Now I just have to see whether I like it or not :)

@zehjotkah at the moment the iconset is freezed - we work on a new version, where you choose which iconset you want to have

@soulfarmer - go to your app-manager - refresh and install mymenu from the extra repository

@amorek13 as soon as possible :-D

I got it to work just by removing it and reinstalling from xterm. Guess I was bit too hasty, but worked nevertheless. :)

Like I have said already before, good work. The best mod available!

Some directory changes maybe?:
Maep - from Networking to Navigation?
Mancala - from Other to Games
Sketch - from Office to Graphics?

For me they would seem more logical like this but thats me.

manzn - Is MyMenu on Extra-devel or Maemo Repository yet? I only ask as I haven't seen it?

I think it could do with a social category - as Hermes/facebook/twitter etc don't fit i feel.
