That message seems related to DirectFB (hardware graphics library), so could be something specific to display on the page, or the library isn't loaded properly. Did you try maybe a reboot of the phone (as a long shot)?

Ofels, your idea is under consideration, but I don't think I can do it in the short term in a way that'd satisfy me.

I've noticed that no feedburner.com hosted rss feeds will work under Maemo's native RSS reader. Do they work under FeedingIt?

Yes, I have myself a few of them that work fine. Make sure you use the URL from the "View Feed XML" link.

it always does it for me on the same feeds
i also used these feeds for a long time before 1.2 so maybe nokia did introduce a bug?

this is the feed:

http://www.nu.nl/feeds/rss/algemeen.rss

it a dutch feed, if i go for exmple to 'snelwegen bij utrecht verbreed' open this in the embedded browser scroll down and at the moment you get advertisment it will crash at my place now and then. (i think it matters what kind of advertisment they display)

if that feed is already gone i guess try some others in that feed many do have the same problem

[OLD]Hmm for me with PR1.2 desktop widget always shows black... Known or a possible issue? Anything I can help debug?[/OLD]

Well the issue was with the theme.

I can confirm that it shows black. Process of elimination to work out that it was FeedingIt :-(

After the upgrade, you might need to remove and re-add the widget so it refreshes (changing theme would probably do the same). I haven't been able to reproduce or get any kind of messages.
If you are able to reproduce, you can send me the /home/user/.feedingit/feedingit_widget.log file.

You're right. After i removed and re-added it appears fine. Cheers.

Re: FeedingIt - RSS Reader

0.7.0-1 is now in Extras-devel to integrate what Thp and Nelson have sent me. This add in particular:
- TreeViews to display the feeds and articles (instead of buttons) (Thp)
- About button (Thp)
- Hide read feeds and articles setting in Preferences menu (Nelson)

@jcompagner: I have read more Dutch in a day than the rest of my life, but haven't been able to reproduce the crash. Is it still happening? The only advice I have at the moment would be to open the link in the external browser (see menu item)

Re: FeedingIt - RSS Reader

yes i still get it also in the latest release, pretty constant, i cant read almost any news item from the feed i gave above, i think 1 out of 5 doesnt crash but the rest is crashing when i start scrolling through the page (seems to crash even faster when i start scrolling when the page is still loading)

~ $ FeedingIt
FeedingIt.py:1012: GtkWarning: gdk_drawable_set_colormap: assertion `cmap == NULL || gdk_drawable_get_depth (drawable) == cmap->visual->depth' failed
gtk.main()
Aborted

after a crash i restarted but feeding it doesnt fully load and keeps just the spinning circle:

~ $ FeedingIt
Traceback (most recent call last):
File "FeedingIt.py", line 815, in createWindow
self.pannableListing.set_label("Update in progress, please wait.")
AttributeError: 'hildon.PannableArea' object has no attribute 'set_label'

so it thinks it is updating? normally if that is the case the cpu spikes and a python proccess taking up many slices. now this is not the case.

after a wait and still nothing happens i close it and see this in the console:

l'
Traceback (most recent call last):
File "FeedingIt.py", line 1080, in <module>
app.run()
File "FeedingIt.py", line 1013, in run
self.listing.saveConfig()
AttributeError: FeedingIt instance has no attribute 'listing'

i guess i need to delete some config area and start over..

p.s. the about info isnt updating i fist though i was still at 0.6.
