I'm to the east of NoobMonkey, actually in Brighton. I've had to walk to work 3 days out of 5 this week cuz there's been no buses running. Good chance to see how the N900 copes with the conditions though:

Re: Snowed in

It should do fine, considering I was walking in a shopping mall parking lot and tripped in a snowbank and fell with it and my N900 into the snow. Some snow got on it (it has a hard case on and a screen protector). Wiped the snow off and it was fine. =P

Re: Snowed in

I was all set for a second day working from home over broadband, when I found out early this morning that the air con in our computer room had failed and killed half off our systems when the temperature breached 50'C.

The journey in on the Motorway (A1(M) county durham) was horrendous due to massive amounts of black ice. Possibly the most scared I have ever been driving!

Looking forward to a weekend of not driving and walking the dog though a foot of snow!

Re: Snowed in

looks like it's going to snow saturday/sunday and get worse til about tuesday. irelands a joke when it comes to snow. we just can't handle it with our tiny country roads and our retro fitted main roads. oh and 1 tractor with grit.

still could be in scotland, only 2 degrees Celsius above antartic temperatures in some places.

thing pissin me off the most is the premier league matches being canceled! my fantasy.premierleage.com team is ruined now!! ok well not totaly ruined but still i lost a few points but i'm still on top of my work league( won 170 for being top by xmas ) i'll see if i can get a few random pics up of the stupidity here with snow.

Re: Snowed in

I was supposed to fly back to the UK on Tuesday. I forgot my wallet in the car on Tuesday, and missed my flight.

I got a new ticket, for Wednesday, and that flight was canceled two minutes before departure. The flight was replaced with a flight on Thursday night, however while driving from the south of France towards the airport in northern Spain, I got stuck in a snowstorm. I had to spend the night in an improvised shelter. There was a flash-freeze around 2AM that had the outside temperature drop to -17, and the temperature inside the shelter to -4. The roads finally got usable around 7AM so I drove back to the house in France as the border to Spain was still closed.

I'm attempting another flight tonight, but honestly I have no clue as to whether I'll get there, nor if the plane will leave.

yes
but it's only half full, so that the pool won't get any damage.
