i like both but i'm currently using peyo's b/c when you slide pac man eats the pills up then runs into a ghost
is there a way to remove swipe to unlock text?
it spoils the modded lock screens and chances are people who are customising have already mastered how to swipe :D

it looks a lot better on the phone than in the screenshot, colours look different on screenshots the pills look pinkish

Is there a foolproof way to make these slide themes installabe by noobs? A nice script? Or a deb? Or must you create a whole new theme for it?

:) I managed to install but now a friend that's not used to linux command line wants the pacman too. So i thought of making him a deb. But that probably means he has to use dpkg -i or i must setup a repository and i can give him an install url.

The package also has one animation that I made from scratch, it just says "Loading..." in a kind of vibrating font.

what program do you guys use to make your designs on windows?
design is not my strong point but i'm going to have a go at it.

Another Mod you can do. Instead of network shares and blah blah.

Setup ssh server on the n900.
Then on a linux machine. You can make a launcher whose command is.

This will open up a folder to the folders which you would get via Mass Media mode. Except this doesnt have to be connected to anything when you're doing it. You also dont lose all your files access. Though performance wise. It'll be far worse. If you have any video going or something it'll be laggy when you transfer. Also the Wireless G speed is far slower then USB 2.0. Literally 10x faster if you use usb.

Simple option if you dont want to do any sort of kernel mod or whatever.

hi guys... my n900 is due tomorrow and i really like the idea of this mod however i have 0% know-how... is there an app that can be downloaded that once installed will do this?? or is the only way as described in the post?

nope. no app until now. you have to edit some files.
but maybe someone will create an app for this with a neat gui. :)

Hi Timv1985, theres no app to do this, you have to do it via terminal, mc or via SSH with a PC.

the easyest way is to set up SSH and winSCP, see here .. http://www.symbianscientist.com/index.php?topic=638.0 how to set that up then go back in this thread to see where to put the files for the swipe to unlock screen.

I edited a lot of icons to be more hicolor!

Based on the Matrix-Theme and most of the stuff from this thread i included many icons in this archive: http://www.students.uni-mainz.de/mki...ixReloaded.zip

Inside the archive you will find a folder "icons" which contains any non-symlinked icons and non-empty folders in my /usr/share/icons AND the "matrix" folder which contains all the stuff from /home/opt/themes/matrix.

A GUI for changing all these themes is a must. its all very nice but we need a way for the average joe to be able to install different lock screens etc.

can anyone do a me a favour please i know its kinda hard but maybe i have an image for a football club chelsea fc i want to make it in the swip to unlock screen but i dont know how to edit the image and so on can anyone do it for me and i just over right the files ?

On the slider thing.. (and I've read the thread and can't find anything)

I just want to modify the actual slider button, which png file is that?

Also, what limitations are there (dimensions, file size etc)?

You probably don't need to replace the "portrait" version, but it can't hurt.

mhm.... why don't you move the emblem to the left and add (for example) the english football trophy on the right

(just leave the midsection blank... with the slightly visible emblem in the background)

@ DaKing : This is the German text for swipe to unlock ;)
The zip includes a lockscreen and a lockscreen1, this are the two Backgrounds,and the two LockSliderThumb's for football or logo, so you can put it how you like it most. Just rename them to original, and you are good to go ;)

For such an advanced device couldn't Nokia of come up with something more futuristic looking?!?!? Preferably something with a black background and get rid of the horrible hands, Nokia It's your time to shine with this device, first impressions are everything. Maemo 6 for the N900 need an official new Boot Screen to show off your latest masterpiece!!!!

in \usr\share\icons\hicolor\scalable\hildon\ are only three pics which show the nokia-logo:

- about_nokia_logo.png
- qgn_indi_about_nokia_logo.png
- startup_nokia_logo.png

maybe you want to try modifying these three pics to see what's happening :)
