ok found a 'working!' font creator program and fixed this font i posted earlier cos it has missing symbols:

opened 2 of these nokia fonts and copy/pasted the digits from my font into the nokia one, then saved the nokia ones and put in usr/share/fonts/nokia
looking thru the phone it looks like its only:
nosnb.ttf and nosnr.ttf that need to be changed
the others dont seem to affect anything i can find

the font creator program can also resize each of the digits if needed

i know when i first applied it and rebooted some wigets disapeared from home screen, maybe that has something to do with it bro, try removing them and putting them back on homescreen,

Great MOD, but could you fix the missing . and , and the spacebar (lower right button(s))
Guess these are the only 2 that have this missing....

Now it is 2 blank buttons on the lower part of the keyboard cause the spacebar sign isn't there either.

i cant cos i dont know where the virtual keyboard is!
ive never seen it so i cant check out the keys!
i mean ive enabled it in settings, but aint got a clue how to actually get it on my screen!

I changed the shading on the extra punctuation (.,-) key so that the darkened symbols would appear. I like the blank space keys so I left them that way. You can always change yours if you like, just edit the two space key images from the .zips.

just put the 4 font files:
nosnb.ttf
nosnr.ttf
nosns.ttf
nscnr.ttf

into:
usr/share/fonts/nokia

reboot phone and reapply any widgets back to the homescreen if they are missing


the 4 font files apply to different parts of the phone,
you could have 4 different fonts running at once,
on different parts of the phone if you wanted

here ive just included 4 copies of the same font 'thabita'
and renamed them to the above names

to apply a different font you must reapply the nokia original font first, (there included here) and reboot phone,
then apply your font files and reboot

This looks great !!!, could it be possible to have a little bit bigger
handwritten front the 'thabita' one is kind of small
on the screen (or I really need glasses now?? :) )

I can't get these font changes to take effect. I placed them in /home/user/.fonts and in /usr/share/fonts/nokia and rebooted and no change??

You could have a look at this file :
urs/share/themes/xxx/gtk-2.0/gtkrc

Wayyyyyy down is the option to change the size of the font.

but am looking at this doc for half an hour and still can't find something to change...

Could you be more specific how it is called, where it is located (real bottom or half way or whatever) what size I can switch it too without messing it up completely.

I changed the fonts of my N900 on another way than overwrite the four Nokia fonts.
I placed my own font in /usr/share/fonts/nokia and changed it in the
gtkrc file (/usr/share/themes/*THEME-NAME*/gtk-2.0)
With this method I can decide wich font is changed. (See screenshot: white letters changend but the orange smaller are orginal font)

Thats a good question... ^^ I changend the theme about 20 times in the last hour to figure that out!
The most sections are used on different places...
So far I came:

If you change the font size in that file, do you have to reboot?

I only change the theme to another and then back... I think it is not necessary to restart the phone when you only change things in the theme location.

Have a question It is possible for somebody who has the reboot and soft power-off button mod on their phone to post their systemui.xml file
for me.

Been wrestling with this for 3 days now and still ending up with only a phone button left.

Tried so many editors, so that can't be it, but when I save it gets corrupt, don't ask me why it is just not working for me.

(using Win SCP and SHH server).

Please (blinks her eyelashes heavily....ROFL...)

I have a good one, lots of stuff on it. It has the cellular disable installed as well and custom icons. You'll have to drop the txt off the end of the file.

You'll find that cut and paste off the forum to not work much.

I replaced desktop bookmarks (screen-shot) thumbnails with logos and i added a little bit of transparency. :)

You can find png files in ~/.bookmarks/home-thumbnails and ~/.bookmarks/thumbnails.
Btw, i tried to change titles below logos i don't know where i can change them. It's not in ~/.bookmarks/MyBookmarks.xml and it's not in /usr/share/bookmark-manager/MyBookmarks.xml. Let me know if you find file in which are those titles. :)

Here is a little improvement for battery and cellular phone network status

I like default battery icons, so only colors in last three states changed and networks status changed from 2G > G (gsm) , 2.5G > E (edge) 3G no change , 3.5G > H (hspa)

Just unpack to /usr/share/icons/hicolor/scalable/hildon/

Default icons are included in backup folder if you will not like mine



Im thinking about creating an icon theme for menu ,maybe whole system based on buuf icon theme by fana-m

I'm very interested, we can use my MOD-Pack thread (see signature) to work on gnome-icon-themes!

Btw: You don't have to replace the files in /usr/share/icons/hicolor, you can use ~/.local/icons/hicolor instead (folder doesn't exist) to override default icons.

I was tired of typing first root, then mc in terminal.
I edit the file /usr/share/menu/mc to :

Ive cme accross a problem :-S Ive changed my battery icon an its been fine for the past few days then 1 day it went to default icons so i gave it a reboot an it was fine. Nw ive noticed its happened again today an reboot aint fixed it.
Can anyone tell me why this is happening?

And no ive not done any new firmware update on it this week.
