you have to edit the file gtkrc in usr/share/themes/alpha/gtk-2.0
when you change it it changes other areas too, such as contacts colour, and desktop shortcut name colours and various other places.

Doesn't spliting just make things harder to find? Now I'll have to search two threads instead of just one when I get my N900 back from repair... :(

yep.
don't create x new mod-threads.

i think you don't have to write complete how-to's or instructions in the wiki again.
in my opinion it would be adequate enough to just link the posts there with a short discription of the mod. :)

ok using winscp navigate to
/usr/share/themes/alpha/gtk-2.0 and you should see these 4 files double click the first (gtkrc) and a page will open up with a long list of all sorts you then need to click on th binoculars icon and type the word logical then "find next" and it will take you to the correct place on the list that you need to be which is "Logical color definitions"
then change the corrosponding numbers its the first 2 in the list for what you need. but remember other parts of the phone will change too, its a trial an error thing.

I tried to put a reboot button in the drop down menu...and I ended up completely erasing everything...does anyone know how I can get them again? It's a pain not having controls of my Profiles to switch to silent when I'm at work...thanks!

It makes Zero sense to have multiple threads about the same thing.

Some would say it was stoopid...

I don't know if you've noticed, but a common function of the mods is to merge threads about the same subject.

Since y'all are talking about themes and whatnot, does anyone know how I can reverse the part of the script in this thread: http://talk.maemo.org/showthread.php?t=46027


i executed the script to free more rootfs and what it does is move and symlink folders. apparently it moved and linked the themes folder and now none of my themes are working except the stock blue nokia one. applying, reinstalling themes only changes wallpapers. any clue how i can reverse this? I posted on that thread this same question so excuse my netiquette faux pas but it seems relevant in this thread as well.

In Menu, instead of MORE -> notes, pdf .. applications. I got rid of MORE sub-menu and have just one clean menu now.

guys, i just had an issue in my n900 and wanted to know whether others had it. When I called my N900 from another phone and cut it (without picking the call), at the end of the missed call the ringtone volume raised slightly and then call went off. Is it happening for anyone else?

I didn't like catorize solution of sub menus, and sometimes its a miss hit on its part putting a logical game in some other sub-menu. thats the beauty of open-source. Even better than catorize would be making your own folders creating sub-menus.

its easy to config catorise,

------------------------
the file:

/opt/catorise/menu

can be edited to shuffle things around and they won't get overwritten (unless you put them in other or an invalid section).



Once edited, you can run as root to regenerate:

/opt/catorise/catorise

its a UI issue, by default new apps get appended at the end of main menu or a sub menu. I was also thinking of making a folder 'Installations' like in symbian to keep installed apps separate and then you can reshuffle them around. But its a lot of work for a simple menu. Either catorize or implementing folders on your own, you have to reconfigure after installing apps.

After thinking through it plus how palm OS implements one menu. I implemented it.

Can someone check for me please whether a file named general_mybookmarks_folder.png is located in the usr/share/icons/hicolor/64x64 ?
or it's located only in the usr/share/icons/hicolor/48x48 ?

But... When I put things in "other", they don't move to other. They revert to where they were. Other categories work fine. Any idea?
