i did go to another site and dl a bunch of ttf files.

then i copied them to usr/share/fonts folder.

when i open the them customizer, i can see all the fonts and select them, and they do take effect int he theme customizer, but they do not take effect on the rest of my unit.

am i doing something wrong?

EDIT: scratch that...after a reboot, it took effect! ty.

Not as far as I know guys.... If it was removed, how would you launch the main menu, status menu and desktop menu?

EDIT: Cheeky workaround:

Take the icon you want to see overlapping the status bar.

Cut it horizontally in half, split and keep both sections.

Paste the top section on your wallpaper.

Make a launcher widget using QB, and use the bottom half of your icon as the icon.

Line them up...

Profit! ;)

Of course the downside is only the bottom half of your icon will be active.

That would be nice actually since we have the photo already. Seems there is very little you can do with the contacts shortcut as it appears that part of the device is closed. For example many have tried and failed to make the short cut smaller. So I would suspect the answer is you cannot remove the name although I would be gladly proved wrong. One thing I know you can do though is to replace the png which contains the name with a transparent one so that the name is less intrusive. I did that and it shows much more of my desktop which contains my contacts short cuts.

Haha, yeah that be one way to do it, guess that would look kinda funny with the clock. :p

Anyhow, I dont want to remove the Main menu/status menu. They are still supossed to be there, if you catch my drift. I thinking about making the "blockbar's" png smaller, dont know if that would help , but guess its worth a shot. Since i dont want to show my menu bar ect, and IF it works making a smalled png image of the bar, only I need to know where to push to get the menu/status menu open. and that aint so hard.:p

If you need a free image editor get gimp, does everything you need from photoshop for free.

Now if that bolded part were 100% true, Adobe wouldn't sell a single licence for Photoshop anymore :P

(just kidding, Gimp is very powerfull and great free tool for basic and semi-advanced image editing)

i downloaded the nuclear rotating icons for the five dots on loading.

put the 8 indicator images into:

usr/share/icons/hicolor/scalable/hildon

(overwrite the ones already there)

take backup b4 replace originals;)

I have looked and looked for the h-e-n (hostmode) icon but can't seem to find it. Does anyone know? It's not a big problem, cause the icon is okay, but I would like to use my own if anyone can help me? Thanks in advance.

Yes! Take a look
Not only sound becomes louder and better, but entire system works smoothly, it also does things as swapolube, but better in my case.
Battery life also increased.

i am trying to make this icon change, but cannot.

i have created the 32x32 yin/yang set of icons for it and put them in

/usr/share/icons/hicolor/32x32/hildon


they are labeled... indicator_update1-8 and i have over-ridden the originals.


but they do not show up.


can anyone help me so that when the email or calendar, etc are thinking, that it will show my n ew icons?

if you want to change the progress indicator(small one),
you need to make those all 8 icon compile to this wmProgressIndicator(see attch example, use photoshop) and put it inside /opt/usr/share/themes/[your theme name]/images

if you want to change the loading icon(example at media player,the bigger one), put it inside usr/share/icons/hicolor/scalable/hildon
you can try use the yinyang attached.

p/s: if you don't know how to complile yinyang to wm file, let me know. i try to spend some time for you.

Hmmm the Png you are looking for is called "statusarea_usb_active" and its 48x48.. its in hildon 48..

i am not sure how to create a wm file. i am using gimp...and am pretty sure that i can save the files as a wm...but not sure how to create the image with all in an order.

i have attached a rar with the fixed yinyang files.

could you please help me with that? or direct me how to do so?

wanted to share what i made

downloaded the icon from

and named it chat_smiley_sleepy.png (name it to the icon you want to change, im never sleepy so i dont use that icon :)

then edited the default.def in /usr/share/rtcom-messaging-ui/smilies/user/ with filebox and leafpad and changed the sleepy smileys to <3, then in xterm root and killall rtcom-messaging-ui.

then copied the icon to usr/share/icons/hicolor/48x48/hildon and usr/share/icons/hicolor/24x24/hildon and usr/share/icons/awoken-icon-theme/48x48/hildon (the last one you dont have to do if you dont use awoken icons)
