Re: [Announce] fMMS for N900
First off, I want to commend you for jumping head first into giving us a working product! There are defiantly those of us that use MMS and appreciate your efforts!
So..... I installed version 0.2.3 and was able to receive and send MMS messages on T-Mobile USA. Sent messages were received at the "optimal" (nicely viewable) size, but received MMS's came in as thumbnails. I installed 0.2.7 today. I was really hoping to see in your User Agent profile would do the trick, but from experience with the N97 having the same issues with T-mobile, spoofing the UAProf may be the only way to get a decent MMS Pic. The Iphone MMS Hacks used a spoofed UAProf to get around this issue. Of course that's not what you want ideally, but until T-Mobile USA gets off their hind parts and fix the MMS gateway to actually respond properly to the newly available phones. if you need any info from me let me know. I have been complaining about T-Moblie MMS crap since my N97. P.S. I sent this message from my phone to my phone. The original size before fMMS resize was, 288 * 352 @ 90.6 quality, the received size was 98 * 119 @ 84.0 quality |

Hmmmm, i am only guessing...(and not trying to insult your intelligence) but make sure you are ONLY trying to send a picture. and verify your connection settings for your provider.

Try it if your working network connection has no proxy. Edit the connection, set a proxy, save. Then re-open, uncheck the setting box (which greys out the fields, but keeps the data) and re-save. The same connection can now be used for both network and fMMS! (I updated the wiki with this info too btw.) Thanks again frals! This is moving so fast I can barely keep up with updates, but happy to try things out as I can. I'm on AT&T in the US btw, and have no issues sending or receiving to/from several friends. |

CarliotR1: Cheers for the information. Are you saying the N97 got the exact same problem? Either way, I'll look around for a suitable User-Agent header to fake. Damn TMO :P |

But I found the long sentence cannot adjust according to the screen size in the MMS, I meant there is not auto return function for a long sentence. And It seemed scrolling is very difficult in the received MMS, I wonder if it is the problem of the service provide, or the fmms. Since I will receive the e-newspaper everyday by mms. There will be images in the content. But I found the images will not be inserted in the content any more, but coming in as seperated files. And another question, How can I delete a mms? I can not find the button. Thank you very much |
Re: [Announce] fMMS for N900
I'm getting :
sending failed: Error: -2 Name or service not know Please make sure APN settigns are correct On vodafone UK. cheers Paul |
Re: [Announce] fMMS for N900
After upgrading to latest version I cannot download MMS-messages anymore. Error message says just that cannot download MMS message.
Before upgrade everything was working fine :) But nice feature is that fmms seems now automaticly switch to MMS APN when SMS push arrives. |
