I can't seem to get fmms to work with tmo usa. I've tried all the settings I've found (i.e: youtube, maemo, the wiki, tmo support) and i still keep getting "error 400 bad request"

anyone with a working setting please post up. my fmms is currently on 0.5.3 firmware.

Great program, love it, atleast we got something than having to wait for Nokia to finally insert it into the OS. But I did find a minor problem. I have noticed when my girlfriend sends me a MMS which contains an animated picture, I click on the message, get "trying to download the message" then nothing happens. Click message again and the thinking icon next to the fMMS bar spins then stops. So I don't know if this has been posted before but heres the log from the program for you. T-Mobile USA, all settings work fine, verified i am connected to MMS APN. Again thanks for the program.

Would also like to be able to forward messages, I couldn't find way except to save the pictures and start new mms and send message again.

Not sure if it works with animated GIFs, but non-animated GIFs should work in next version (see bug #9617).

I'll look into getting "Forward" added, for now you could open the picture (tap-and-hold, open and then take "Share via service" -> MMS)

Thanks for update...

A couple of problems...

1) I still can not send messages in other languages (hebrew) except english... I can send, but other phone can't get this message (my too if I send to myself).
I tried to sent one message with hebrew text to myself -> I can't open this message and I can't delete this message from app. After reboot I still can't delete this message from app. I got message: Failed to delete message.

2)It's still not work (not sent) from "Share via service". It's try to send, and I waiting 5-10 min and it's still not sent... I close the fmms...

3) After deleted the messages from the application, it's still stayed in the:
/home/user/.fmms/mms
/home/user/.fmms/sent
/home/user/.fmms/temp (only pictures here)

After deleted the messages from this folders, I still see the message with hebrew text in the app. And I still can't delete this message from app.
at the end I deleted this message by deleting the mms.db file from: /home/user/.fmms/


4) I still get the pictures with one size 240x180px :(


For what the option in the configuration of fMMS: "Experimental mode" ?

I add two log files... Delete suffix .zip and .txt from this log files...

Yeah thats how i forward them but sometimes I get one with multiple images so having to be able to forward it or way to add multiple images since for now you can only insert 1 image. Thanks for taking my thought into consideration.

something wrong... I uninstall fmms and tried to install again, but now a can not see this app in extra-devel. Why ?
I tried to install directly from .deb file, but I get error :(

And another problem...
After uninstalling the app, I still see all folders and messages in the:
/home/user/.fmms
it's not deleted from phone... I delete this manualy.

And I still see option for MMS in the "Share via service". It's too not deleted from phone... :( I don't know how I can delete this..

I cant get it to send, just sits there for ages saying its resizing or somethin and then flashes a page full of stuff and thats it. I have set up the AP correctly as far as I know but I had to set it as GPRS and not packet data as every guide I have read suggested to set. I dont have an option to set packet data. These are the settings I used -

•Connection Type: Packet Data (Set on GPRS)•Access Point Name: 3services
•Username: (Leave blank)
•Password: (Leave blank)
•Use Proxy: No
•But do put the proxy information and enable it the first time. Then save.
•Then go back and uncheck the box. Proxy details should remain grayed out.
•fMMS will use the disabled proxy information even if it is grayed out.
•This allows you to use just one 3services connection profile for both internet and fMMS!
•HTTP proxy: mmscprox.three.net.au
•Port number: 8799
fMMS application settings:

•MMSC: mmsc.three.net.au:10021/mmsc
•Resize Image Width: 640
•Your Phone Number: +614.....

Hi !

For some reason this update is NOT visible in repository, through Application manager. This is the very first time I am experience this.

Can you help me how can I manually install this update OR why it is not shjowing up in application manager as update, while all known repository installed, extras, devel, etc.

Appearently the autobuilder is updated to PR1.2, so you won't see the update in App Manager untill 1.2 is released I'm afraid... Not my fault, I promise :)

Frals many thanks I am now in N900 heaven now I can send and recieve MMS. Finally got around to setting it up last night on Vodafone UK and within 5mins got my first one!

It's in his signature:

"Problem with fMMS? Run in x-terminal: cp /tmp/fmms.log /home/user/MyDocs/
After that you'll see fmms.log in filemanager or when you connect the device to your desktop as a mass storage device.

3G or 2.5g is unrelated. It all has to do with the APN for your mobile provider.

First post here!!

First of all, thank you so much for this app. It really has helped me. I still use MMS a lot and if the world wants to look at me like a dinosaur, then so be it. :)

One question;
My contact's name isn't displayed inside the fMMS inbox. I usually have to guess who's sending me the MMS. And if I can't tell, I have to go search through my contacts and figure it out. It just has their phone number.

Is this by design (so far)? The people sending me the MMS are in "My Contacts" attached to a name. Only fMMS doesn't display their names when I send or receive MMS (as opposed to the Conversations)

Thanks for you work on this app, a lot of people want this on their phones! From my perspective, fAPN wasn't necessary, as the SMS I got from O2 when I put the SIM in set up everything that was needed there.

I guess the only real challenge left is to get the app to use the right connection (ie GPRS) automatically? I was wondering if this could be related to which interface the application was binding to? e.g. should it not be bound only to phonet0?

Also, I notice resizing is pretty slow - could we have some options in the app for this? E.g. HQ(slow)/LQ(fast) all based around the assumptions that the images would have come from the built in camera.
As the MMS images themselves are pretty small, how about caching the resized images? It wouldn't take much space on the device (limit could be configurable option), and would be really helpful - especially with the connection thing and the resizing delay... sometimes I find by the time the image has been resized my connection has swapped back to WLAN... so it errors, so I'm back to the start.... A resizing cache would be a simple optimisation.

Anyway - thanks for writing this app. Much appreciated.

I have too this problem, I see only the number of sender.....

And after deleting the messages from fMMS app, it's still not deleted from: /home/user/.fmms/mms and /home/user/.fmms/sent

But in this version I can receive GIF animated images, I can't see the animation of the picture, but I can see the static image (one frame) from the GIF animated image :D It's cool ! Thanks.
