Thanks for the update. Seems the original problem about not opening some MMS's was related to just GIF's animated or not. Now I can open GIF's but ones that animate don't move. Had my gf send me one she got that had a face laughing and I got it but wasn't animating. Great step in the right direction keep up the good work.

Hi !

Could you consider to implement a lince of code filtering out all chars fmms not accept in phone numbers ?

I mean, all my contact has the followign phone number stlye : +41 (30) 5648932

And fmms always "complain" about spaces and brackets, and woudl be so great if would no need to delete them all the time.

I thought to drop you a lien about it as it should not be a big issue with coding.

I've been working on a few changes to connection stuff - they are all in the next version whenever that comes. Basically there are 3 different "connection modes" - one where it tries to setup a connection in the background (havoc), one where it forces a disconnect from the current one (rude) and a final setting which tries to connect to the correct IAP only if no other connection is active (polite). Hopefully this will void the need to cache resized images as well :)

I am however looking at improving the resizing stuff as it's pretty darn slow atm :)

I Dont get my mms:ses anymore?
Only get the sms from my service provider to go to their site and insert Identification code and my phonenumber to see the mms!
Anybody got any idea whats wrong or how to figure it out?

Hi frals
I test it again...

1) I sent 3 mms - two mms with eng text and 1 with hebrew text. All It's was sent without a problem. Other phone is received only 2 mms with eng. text and not received at all with the Hebrew text...

2) I received 3 mms - two mms with static pic and one with GIF pic. All It's was received without a problem :-) (GIF I see like static pic - no animated, it's ok)

3) I deleted all messages from fMMS application -> close the app -> disconnect from MMS APN.
And after this action, I looking into the: /home/user/.fmms/mms and /home/user/.fmms/sent and I see all messages, it's still not deleted....

I still have the problem with the size of pictures I receive... It's small (240x180)... :-( I don't know why...

I sent you the log file to your e-mail.

Basically you can git clone it to your /opt/fmms/ directory, you'd probably need the git package from the repos to do this - or manually download the files and copy them to /opt/fmms/.

I'll try to get an updated release out tonight, just doing some regression testing atm. :)

Thanks for the update frals. I just tried sending out a mms and it went through the resize but then nothing happens. Just remains on the same new message that I did looking like it is ready to be sent. Not locked up or anything, just doesn't send and return to the main screen.

I tried connecting to TMO MMS to see if that changed anything and it had the same result.

Going to try rebooting to see if that helps.

I have not been typing it with the 2nd space. When i do here is what i get

cp: cannot stat '/tmp/fmms.log': No such file or directory

Now when i type it with only the FIRST space like this
cp /tmp/fmms.log/home/user/MyDocs/

I'm using the WinSCP.

But you can use the frals signature, it's works:

Run in x-terminal: cp /tmp/fmms.log /home/user/MyDocs/
After that you'll see fmms.log in filemanager or when you connect the device to your desktop as a mass storage device.

Probably fMMS fault - not sure it works sending anything except images still (not tested anything else at least). It's a bit further down on the todo list but it's there ;)

After a reboot the /tmp/ directory is emptied so you have to reproduce the problem to get a new log file if you have rebooted your device recently. :)

0.6.1 released which should fix the problems with 'Havoc' mode. :)

The sharing-plugin is pretty buggy still, basically you should launch fMMS from the app menu once before trying to use the share via service-option, usually works for me. Not had time to investigate it yet.

just in case i am not the only noob here here is some great advice i just learned about retrieving the file log for fmms. if you reboot it takes it away so if you want to see it using the instructions in frals signature you will have to recreate the issue and then , with out rebooting, go follow the steps in his signature

OK I tested the "Havoc" mode...
At first it seems all is well.... but....

Before using this mode I delete two last messages from the app.
But now every time I open the app I see for a 5 sec this two messages in the inbox, and after that they disappear....

1) Send/receive only one mms -> after this the app is crashed (not opens) -> need reboot for working with fmms again...

2) Connect to WiFi or 3G -> send/receive only one mms -> after this the app is crashed (not opens) -> need reboot for working with fmms again...

3) I tried to use another modes Polite and Rude -> send/receive only one mms -> after this the app is crashed (not opens) -> need reboot for working with fmms again...

Something wrong with this version (0.6.1)...
Can you add autodisconnect to Polite mode ? I was personally satisfied with it :)
I'll try to install the previous version...

polite mode:
1. not connected to any internet - auto connects and sends from any connection

rude mode:
1. auto connects only if connected to wifi but not when connected to gprs. if the device is already connected to gprs would not connect. tells no path found for apn please check settings.

havoc mode:
would not auto connect at all on any type of connection you have.

and after you send an mms from any of the modes above and receive and try to open the app fmms it auto closes. only reboot seems to fix that.

Read the wiki entry. Working well here. You should note, if you've already configured for Tmo, read it again. Some settings have changed.

OK, lets see if this new ver works....

a few feature requests from a regular fmms user:

Better addressbook interfacing on two levels.

1. more important - can you match numbers up with names from the address book like it does with sms,
2. address book selection on send, search for contacts work like it does with conversations and contacts.

A foward button.

All my friends send me a lot of dumb ****, and I'd one like to know who's sending it and two, like to mass foward it to everyone who hasn't got it yet.

I also see you got sounds working, at least sort of, I can save and play them, which is just as good, actually probably better than other phones. If anyone tells you to make sounds/video play on message open like other phones tell them to go screw.

You need to enable the extras-devel repository to get the latest release:

soes anyone know what a "PLACE HOLDER " is? i checked the wiki fo rmy issue. (can receive mms but can not send it ) and it told me my symptom, problem, and solution was the "PLACE HOLDER" but i don't know what that is or how to fix it
