im using att.
i can send mms okay (response 200)
but i cant receive any
i get 200 when sending to myself
but then i never get it back to myself
any help? :(

connection: AT&T MMS

so i just installed fMMS from devel and for some reason the app wont open.....it just shows its loading and never fully boots. any ideas on why?

You may to uninstall and feinstall the application again if it is not properly launching.

Does anyone know how to access the fmms directory so i can delete my mms messages? I am new to linux and i am unsure if it would be appropriate to use xterm or file manager application?

I have the same problem. Freshly flashed N900. When I run fMMS it never opens and disappears when I ctrl+backspace.

When I run the fMMS python gui from the command line, it says a component "evolution" is not found.

Could somebody please help me with the Elisa Finland MMS settings? I just couldn't get it working. I believe I got something wrong with the Elisa MMS APN or could it be that a port is needed behind the MMSC server IP address?

still the MMS Elisa MMS settings don't work.

First I created the new APN with fAPN and named it "Elisa MMS"
Then edited the APN as follows:

Connection name: Elisa MMS
connection type: Packet data
Access point name: mms
User name: <blank>
Password: <blank>
Prompt password at every login <unchecked>

Proxies
Use proxy <checked>
http proxy: 213.161.41.57
- all the ports have zero
Automatic configuration <checked>
Web address: http://mms.elisa.fi

IP Addresses
Auto retrieve IP address <checked>
Auto retrieve DNS <checked>

then in the fMMS
APN: Elisa MMS
MMSC http://mms.elisa.fi
Resize image width: 300
Your phonenumber: +35850xxxxxxx

Then I connect to the Elisa MMS APN and insert the phone number as: +35850xxxxx and a message, select a picture and press send and nothing happens. Button stays blue and after a relatively long time it tells me to check my APN settings. Have tried with and without a picture and always the same problem

Just like kuriiri said earlier.
Go to terminal
sudo gainroot (you need rootsh to get to the root)
apt-get install python-evolution (will install python evolution)

this worked for me

Oopsi, forgot to add the dependency on python-evolution, it's fixed now and a new package is on it's way to devel as we speak :)

Hey all.

N900 user on Vodafone UK and was also wondering if anyone has had any success. I have created a MMS APN using the tool. As far as I can tell I have all the correct settings.

Currently got an MMS in. I manually connect to the MMS apn and select the message, and it tries to download. However I get an error saying "fMMS: failed to download the mms message"

Any help or suggestion would be greatly appriciated. And thank you for the fantastic program! Hopefully I can get it working and continue to test it.

so after installing the python evolution package and updating to the latest 0.1.7 version im still getting this error. I ran fmms_gui.py from terminal and this is wat i get.....

It reminds me some bug in DBUS lib (I think). Application 'usbcontrol' has the same diagnostics if it is ran as root. If it is started as user - it works. I don't know that is it, actually.

It's precisely that. You can use run-standalone.sh to run it as root (run-standalone.sh "tells" (exports environmental variables) the program the location to some files needed for D-Bus to do its stuff) but running it as user, as it is intended to be, is better.

Good point.

fral - what do you think, do you need a root in this case, for exam - can your daemon runs as user? Or you want to keep a possibility of servicing multiple users (it is not for N900, of course).

the gui should be run as user, im looking at migrating the daemon process to run as user as well (I have no idea why I made it run as root in the first place :P)

Ok, so don't put http:// in front of the access point name. Check. ;)

Works! A message delete function would indeed be welcome in the future. :D Not that I have much use of MMS with email invented, but it's nice to have. Great work.

Try using http://62.142.74.22:8002 as MMSC. For some reason I have the same problem with Elisa, dns not working with mms access point thus I'm using http://213.161.44.110 as MMSC with Elisa.

fMMS lists now six MMS on my phone. However, it can only display the contents of about 3 of them, three others only show a blank white page when opening.
How best to debug? Where can I find the contents/original mms? Shall I email these contents to you, frals?

For each of the 3 messages that only show a blank page try removing /home/user/.fmms/mms/<ID OF THE MMS> and then relaunch the application, this will show them as unread and they will be redownloaded and parsed.

If they still show up as blank messages: please email me the message file for each of these messages, they are stored in /home/user/.fmms/mms/<ID OF THE MMS>/message. NOTE: By sending me these files I will be able to read the messages and their content (hopefully :P) - if this is not acceptable please do not send me these files.

I set up my internet connection and settings according to the wiki site for T-mobile USA. It worked like a charm! Thanks for all the hard work! :D
