Anyway, it has already been described in this very thread how to setup a loopback file, which then can be placed in the MyDocs folder so the games won't take up your precious home partition space. You can also repartition the flash, though this isn't what the common user wants to do. |

Beginners Guide to Install WebOS games?

How do we install webos games such a Need for Speed Underground to N900? I saw a video of Need for Speed Underground being played on N900 without a single lag: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EoBe4fqL8No Do we need to overclock N900 to play the above games. Please clarify & help with step by step instruction on how to get this done. Thanks. |
Re: Palm Pre gets SDL! native gaming
Monopoly crashed when running it from the icon.
I made the icon: desktopgen monopolyclassic and got the icon but whenit reached the game play area the game crashed. The game did not crash from command line. How do i remove the icon? Where is the icon symlink installed? |

Re: Beginners Guide to Install WebOS games
install preenv from terminal
Enable Extra-devel xterminal: root apt-get update apt-get install preenv extract the webOS game.ipk and you'll get two tar files. Control.tar.gz and Data.tar.gz, extract Data.tar.gz and you'll get: data.tar ->extract it and you'll get : usr data Go into usr and inside you'll find an applications folder. Copy what's inside the folder (a folder called com.ea.xx.xxx.xx or com.gameloft.xx.xxx) create a folder called "applications" in home/user/ copy the com.xxx.xxx.xxx to your /home/usr/applications via SSH should looks like this: home/user/applications/com.xxx.xxx..xxx run the following command: xterminal: root chmod +rwx /home/user/applications/com.xxx.xxx.xx/nfsuc preenv desktopgen /home/user/applications/com.xxx.xxx.xx/appinfo.json some games gamefile is located inside the folder directory: example: com.ea.xxx.xxx/monopoly/monopolyclassic done. Go to appl list and you should see an icon of the game Look for the file without extension and has the name of the game then chmod it. Maxx |
Re: Beginners Guide to Install WebOS games

Re: Palm Pre gets SDL! native gaming

Re: Palm Pre gets SDL! native gaming
Help! I have updated to PR1.3 and have installed PREENV (latest). Extracted Sims 3 onto my /home/user/applications folder and did the chmod +x on the sims file. when I execute it (./sims), I get an error saying "./sims: error while loading shared libraries: libpd1.so: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory"
NFSUC comes up with the libSDL_cinema.so error similar to Sims3. Has anyone had this error? Thanks... |
Re: Beginners Guide to Install WebOS games
Thanks maxximuscool..
Can you pls clarify how to: "extract Data.tar.gz and you'll get: data.tar ->extract it and you'll get : usr data Go into usr and inside you'll find an applications folder. Copy what's inside the folder (a folder called com.ea.xx.xxx.xx or com.gameloft.xx.xxx) create a folder called "applications" in home/user/ copy the com.xxx.xxx.xxx to your /home/usr/applications via SSH should looks like this: home/user/applications/com.xxx.xxx..xxx" Pls clarify so that I can try installing it.. Thanks a ton once again.. |

Else you can "root" and Palm Pre and get the files from there. Or look for it on the dark pages of internet (I didnt say that!). |
Re: Beginners Guide to Install WebOS games

Then copy the folder call com.xxx.xxx.xx to home/user/applications (assuming you got WinSCP and SSH installed) drag the folder to your N900. that's it. Just do it and you'll see what i mean. Very simple and easy to do. |

Re: Palm Pre gets SDL! native gaming
When i try to run preenv, i get following error: "sh: error while loading shared libraries: libsdl_gles-1.2.so.0: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory"
I have all the libgles-packages installed, but in usr/lib/ there are only libSDL_gles and libSDL-1.2 files... Which package am i missing? Edit: Seems to be fixed with reinstall of libsdl-gles1.2-1 from PR1.3-repo... |

To get the games, get a WebOS device (or borrow a friend's) and BUY the game on the phone's app catalog. Then, after "rooting" the webOS device, transfer the game's .ipk file to your N900. |

4 mee actually all 3d one person games like assasins ore N.O.V.A are completle useless, becouse they need multitouch to play fast.
But i think Asphalt 5 will bee interesting, but at the time it did not work :-( Quote:
