ok, for check the configuration file you have to do this:

sudo
cd /etc/hildon-welcome.d
ls


you should have only

default.conf

i think i found the error, i have a folder named "hildon" only and i have in one file named "welcome", i think that was the second conf file,

because i made cd to them and cannt go in, so they are files not folders. In the folder hildon-welcome.d, i have default.conf, and another called media but cannt go in

I don't have that media file/folder...

But if you run ls inside cd /etc you can find one hildon file/folder

did you try to replace the file default.conf?

yes and when i replace i can change the first video and not the second one, the second one still hans on, so you have that hildon folder? what you have inside that cd etc/hildon? have you theme and welcome or just "theme"? i need to know if i will delete only the one inside hildon.welcome.d that is "media" only or the other into etc/hildon called "welcome" also?

Before deleting any files you better try and move it to /home/user/MyDocs/.documents/

I think what you have to do is:

mv /etc/hildon/welcome.conf /home/user/MyDocs/.documents/

I'm not sure about the extension of the file "welcome"

when that is done try to browse your folder Documents from the file manager on you phone, you should be able to see the file welcome there.

If you don see it mean that something went wrong.

i have now only maemo video but i should use 2 videos, first nokia then maemo 5 after lolx XD, nah just joking, its fixed, maybe was one of those archives but not sure about wich one, but all 2 were in wrong places, all 2 were .conf files. so all 2 were at wrong place, you should test maemo5 start video it looks quite nice

Hi, I found some bugs, I didnt read the whole thread, maybe someone already mentioned them before, but... here they are:

The OVI icon is nowhere when u add the OVI widget....

When using Pidgin, there is a "white" bar (shown with red arrows) just above the empty place where you can type... just a bit annoying :(

Also, selected tabs will have a "green" top (shown with blue arrow), I think you can remove that... It will be nicer..
See the screenshots for your self what I mean :)
Hope those will get fixed! :D

Guys 1 question, i updated to new firmware version 2-2009 etc... but i cannt install deb files now with pill method, how can i install deb files now?

via xterminal. You will need rootsh installed.
then from xterminal, type the two commands

root
dpkg -i file.deb

Guys i tried changing the boot video to matrix but when i try to revert back to old nokia hands on xterm it says file not found. I did put the file to documents folder and followed the code still no luck.

The nokia boot video is already included in the device.
All you need to do is change the default.conf file or download the stock one from first post.

if you enter in the terminal:

You should see two videos the Hands-v32-h264.avi and matrix.avi

Now, if you installed leafpad and root you can type:

There is:

change matrix.avi for Hands-v32-h264.avi

sorry guys, I am New here, I tried to install the theme into my phone which is with the latest firmware.

i type all the referred code, but it shows that i need action option????.

the code i type is
sudo gainroot
dpkg i- anrion/documents/matrix.deb

You should really read carefully the first post from Lacedaemon. If you download it in the Documents of the n900 (not the memory card) and type *exactly* his code.. it will work for sure only if you installed rootsh.

I consider myself a noob too. But I search a lot in the forum to find what I want and I learn things at the same time ;)

I redownloaded the file and it works well. I almost sure that you didn't follow correctly his guide. I really don't know what to tell you more.

This is the only theme that I can't install.

Can I have RedAlert installed to install this one? The error that I'm getting is related to /.DS_Store and the process is killed or something like that. Any hint? :confused:

Yeah unfortunately that is my fault(or Macintosh's fault).
If you delete RedAlert theme you won't be getting that error.

Will fix the .DS_Store issue and upload new version.

IM stuck at this part
