Reflashed Now Dead Phone
 

Ive had problems with battery issues and someone said try reflashing it, so Ive got NSU loaded and went through stages and now hanging, My phone says nokia white background and a status bar that is green and about at 35% mark. The software updater says 1 sec left and been mins now. Any help please.

10 mins and still hanging, any help would be great.

Should I leave? unplug and start again?

Phone is now blank and the usb disconnected. AARRRRRRRRRRRR, whats happening???

Try using the flasher-3.5.exe instead.

Turn it on by holding the "u" button on the keyboard, plug in the cable and reflash with flaher-3.5.

Ive got in charging now and background is black and nokia sign is on it. When I press the on button the little yellow light comes in, plugged into the wall, then after a min or two, yellow light goes off and vibrates. But nokia logo still shows on screen, will this mean its still charging.

I had something similar, though it died at about 90%. I took the battery out to reset it, then tried again. NSU said words to the effect of "I ballsed up - having another pop" and it finished OK.

And all sorted, best way, I will never use the NSU again.

Really scared me, but really easy using flasher tool, thats the way it should be. Thanks for everyones help here.

Try to avoid using NSU - Had some scary moments with a few previous N Devices. Not fun is it!

got exactley the same problem.

No repsond from the n900, so manual flash with holding down "u" doesnt work.

Anyone that sorted out the problem?

got the same problem, cant even get to the manual flash mode with pressing "u".

Unplug battery, put back in. plug in the power for 1 hour, try to turn on, either power button or u button. Should display nokia logo and then follow steps in guide.

didnt work, the n900 only makes a quick "buzz" (vibrates) and then i see the nokia logo without background light......Then 30sec later it gives a buzz -etc-etc-etc-etc-

Install flasher, download firmware, copy file to the programs/flasher software, (e.g. where you installed) then make sure you plug in usb to your pc, open flasher, type in command, now make sure same as the file name, as one given is not right, then press enter and all should work, if not then will tell you on command prompt, unplug usb and plug back in and all should work.

the flasher and SW is ok! But I don get the mobile into "flashmode" , holding down "u" key as described on the wiki doesnt work.

Ive tried on 2 computers (4 different USBs in total). It just gives a buzz and nokia logo....over and over .

I had the same problem as you did... after bricking it, when I plugged in the charger it would buzz, turn on, turn off, buzz again, etc. I went to a Nokia Care Point and they tried to flash it for me there. They said they couldn't do it either. Now they have send it to the "Laboratory". I should have it back in 2 weeks (!) - either fixed or replaced.

The guy from the NCP said that I should probably go to them to update the firmware in the future, just in case. WTF is that about, right? It is a 600 euro phone, it should simply work.

Anyway, that is what happened to me. I suggest you try to find the nearest NCP and pay them a visit. Sorry to hear you are in the same situation as I am.

@others, is it better to flash the firmware per wiki instructions than using NSU?
