Re: New firmware released!

I diff'ed the kernel sources and it appears the only change was to LZO compression.

Files changed:
crypto/lzo.c
fs/ubifs/compress.c
fs/ubifs/journal.c
fs/ubifs/sb.c
fs/ubifs/super.c
fs/ubifs/ubifs-media.h
include/linux/lzo.h
lib/lzo/lzo1x_9x.c

So they are now using this:
lib/lzo/Makefile
+lzo_compress-objs := lzo1x_compress.o lzo1x_9x.o

"lzo1x_9x.c -- implementation of the LZO1X-999 compression algorithm" - "This file is part of the LZO real-time data compression library."

Wikipedia has a bit of info:

Re: New firmware released!

On that note, does anyone have a changelog for the fixes coming in PR1.1?

anyone else noticing a less powerful wifi radio? before the update it was just uskomatonta, i was able to connect from 500 meters far from my n router, now it behaves like a normal laptop, sometimes it even lose the signal, which never happened before. i rebooted and waited and cleaned and all. am i just paranoid? how could i check if they changed something?

So I guess it cleans space for the big bang ;)

I rebooted just before and just after install and mine didn't change more than 1 MB. Sure it wasn't just flushing out cached data that did it?

In any case, mine's at 80% so i'm jealous. ;)

They didn't change anything to the WLAN driver. The kernel source is available for all to see.

Your case is not related to the update at all. People start bad rumours this way. No evidence, just what they think they see.
