When I tried without cable but then it said: not enough battery life to install update.

So then I just charged it for a while, disconnected the device and tried again. Third time it actually installed.

Isn't it quite obvious to charge the device full before doing updates? :)

Just checked mine - no such issue, stayed on PAL for me. Did you do a backup prior to update? If you've used previous versions of Maemo you'll understand how this works.

I have no update available. That's weird since I live in Italy and other italians already downloaded the update... Could it be a problem with other software installed?

Updated OK over the air (UK, MPD on Voda.). My theme was reset from the default blue to the other official orange, other than that, fine.

I haven't use previous versions of Maemo before. You mean the update will restore the latest backup?

Nothing wrong so far with UK device. If yo ugrab a version of the flash image for your current version and run a backup prior to update then you should be able to get back to the current situation if needed though.

Unlikely. Wait at least 24 hours and then come back if it's still not there :-)

No, you can backup onto the internal memory. It's very easy to do, just run the Backup app, you'll see.

Don't know what happens if you brick it and need to restore though :)

No I cant do it. Try yourself to see. I rebooted too.

So is there any place where we can find what was fixed in this update?

tk421 2010-01-11 11:42

Re: New firmware released!

there was a big list in the 'details' of the upgrade option plus someone listed a short list here a few pages back.

well, apart from changing my theme from digital nature to nokia nseries without my permission, everything seems to be fine after the update.. ah, and i have an Ovi catalog in the app manager now too.

Re: New firmware released!

I had an issue with the second reboot, not the first. The five dots freeze - easily fixed it with enable-disable R&D mode, but had to drive home instead of lunch :) Hint: You can't get it to work in Windows 7 if you didn't use the flasher before because the device freezes before Windows 7 can install its drivers.

Dont dismiss this as just placebo effect...

Just because it didnt happen to you it doesnt mean that it might not be happening to others...

I didnt have many of the bugs and problems people related (like endless reboots) but I am sure they do exist.

Did it.
Backuped automatic.

Seems a bit faster in response to menu switches.

Anyone a bug fix list from this release?

Re: New firmware released!

My App Manager was in Red Pill-mode. Refreshing catalogs showed no updates. 'apt-get update', 'apt-get upgrade' installed updates. But, the first tryfailed, roofs was full. Apt-get clean free'd some space so I managed to install updates. However, Settings->Device info shows old firmware version ... :) Where does the device info fetch version information?

just a question...do i need to install this small update in order to install later the big one ?

Re: New firmware released!

Managed to install update via NSU in the UK.
Backed-up stuff onto memory card.
Following restore, I go to Application Manager to restore application or to update repositories, the the progress bar when it checks for updates stops half way and doesn't move beyond that for in excess of 10 minutes on a WiFi connection.

Anyone else having this issue?

Hi Boybunny (Interesting name!)
have you been installing apps from extras-testing or extras-development?
I assume your rootfs is probably full - it has been mentioned lots of times before, so if possible please do a search for rootfs :)

Hmm. This is really small thread on scale of forums what i have seen. Generally all the threads here are more a like chats which you can scroll pretty fast by reading/scanning just some words. Should not take more than 5 minutes to find something. Also quotes with backlink to orginal post make finding even faster.

updated from france no problem

menus fasters, touchscreen a bit less sensitive so it's very cool
(very hard to scroll with finger without selecting something, now on new version scrool is ok)
i'm training to scroll since one week only perharps i'm better at it but i really feel a better scrolling ....

yes

catalogs take while to refresh (several minutes) but I had that _before_ the update, so I guess it's because they're being hammered a bit.

Installed. No 3 SIM fix (dammit, hurry PR1.1 up). MicroB is definitely quicker at rendering and more responsive.
