After update, contact widget shortcut disappears on desktop
 

After installing the update, i noticed that my contacts that i placed a shortcut for on the desktop disappeared. I tried adding other contacts as shortcuts to the desktop, but they don't appear and that name is gone from the list when I try to add. anyone have the same problem?

no i didnt - mine are still there.

most people are getting things working again from a restart- try that

Hi,

I have the same problem. Contact is no more available as a desktop widget but it still on the phone in the contact list. It seems contact widget is already on the desktop, but is not visible.

If you've got the Transitions Control app installed try doing a "Restart Desktop" from it, that's worked for me before.

Wich update do you mean?
Did you install anything from the testing area? if so read the following topic before doing anything like de-installing stuff like i did:

i have the same problem
but i haven't installed anything before the desktop contacts disappeared

after looking at several thread i think it's a bug related with memory issues

in my case, this 'phenomena' probably related with my n900 uptime... this problem appears after more than 4 days of uptime...
terminating/restarting hildon-desktop alone doesn't resolve this
got it resolved after restarting the device

I had the same problem, contacts became "invisible" (i couldn't place the same shortcuts on the desktop, but could add other contacts). I tried restarting and it did nothing. Then I powered down the device and removed the battery. THAT worked.

Try removing the battery after you power it down.
